Couple New Jackets!

It's been so so hot here, even though it is almost October.  We are still having 100 degree weather constantly.  Feels like it will never cool!  However, it did not stop me from buying 2 jackets recently.  Hey, all the stores have gotten their fall merchandise, and when you see something you like, you buy it.  =)

First I went into this store called S.Y.L.K.  It was my first time in there, they seem to have some trendy stuff that are not very expensive.  I actually have been wanting a neutral colored leather jacket that is drapy in the front, and when I saw this jacket made by a label called Epique Moi, I thought it was perfect!  It's not made of leather though, but some kind of soft synthetic material.  That's fine with me.  I just really like the style.  I'm waiting for the weather to cool so I can wear it!

This is what it looks like when it's open, but there are many ways to wear it!

Here's the close up:

So it has a zipper that goes from the left side all the way around the back of the neck through to the right side.  You can wear it half way zipped up like this:

Or zipped all the way up like this:

Or you can unzip the neck portion and have the drape go to the other side - though this is a bit weird and I probably won't wear it like this:

Anyway, so I really love this jacket.  The color is great and will go with pretty much anything.  The style is exactly what I want too, and it was only $98.  Pretty decent for a jacket that I can see getting a lot of use out of!

And my next jacket is from Zara.  It's this cute white jacket with cropped sleeves and these stud details around the shoulders and sleeves.  It was also only $88 which is great.  I love this kind of rocker style.

This jacket will also go with a lot of stuff, from pants to skirts or dresses, and pretty much with any color as well.  I think it's also a good investment!  So I am kind of stoked to have gotten 2 jackets on the same day that I can see myself getting a lot of use out of.  And did not cost me my right arm.  This does not happen very often.  =)

Lululemon Wunder Under Crops Bordeaux Drama

I surprised myself and bought the Lululemon Wunder Under crops in Bordeaux Drama last week, and I actually really really love them!  Plum type of color is not usually a color that I lean towards, but I have been toying with the idea of getting bottoms in colors other than black and gray because I was getting bored with them.  Power purple was a wonderful branch out, but I can't wear them all the time.  So when I saw bordeaux drama, I knew it would a color that I would be more willing to reach for as bottoms.  It is more subtle than purple of course, and it also goes with more tops in my closet.  Here it is on me with an older cool racerback in static very violet, which I think goes well.

I also like this web shot of them in a monochromatic look paired with a bordeaux drama top.

I think bordeaux drama will also go with the pinks/corals in my closet such as pink mist, bubbulicious, pig pink, very berry, passion, flash, paris pink, and pow pink.  It will probably not look bad with blues. And obviously will go with black, white, and coal.  So to me that is pretty versatile and I can make many outfits out of these crops.

I actually think bordeaux drama will be a great color to have in Dance Studio pants as well.  But I'm seriously restraining myself at the moment even though they are so tempting!

Sunday Funday!

I have been a bad blogger lately with so much stuff going on and so little time!  So I decided this week that I would start working out in the morning before work, which would leave time after work for me to play tennis or golf, or go to happy hour, or blog.  It is a little tough since I do have to be at work by 7 at the latest, so I have to be at the gym by about 5 am - I am NOT a morning person.  I did it for 2 days last week, and it reminded me of how much better it really is to get it over with first thing in the morning.  I used to workout before work back when I didn't start work till 8 am, and I loved it.  So I think I will keep this up.  Although this coming week I have to be at work by 6 am, so I think I'll start again the week after.

Anyways, so I kind of have a lot of workout outfits this week even though I only really worked out 4 times.  I went to play golf twice, and working out in the morning when it is still cool out actually required jackets!  It's been like 100 degrees here everyday, completely horrid.  I am very ready for the weather to cool down.

Tuesday 9/18
What I did:  Weight lifting - chest.

What I wore:  Lululemon No Limit tank in caspian blue, with deep indigo Ebb & Flow crop and Nike Frees.

Wednesday 9/19
What I did:  This was the first day I started working out in the morning before work!  I went weight lifting and worked on shoulders.  Then I did 10 sprints to start off my day.  =)

What I wore:  Lululemon Power Y tank in three print, and black Ebb & Flow crops with my Adidas adizero adios 2 shoes.

I put on my currant Define jacket as to/from, totally matched my shoes.  I loved this outfit!

That same night, I went to play golf after work, so I kind of did a double up.

I wore my power purple groove pants, with lavender cool racerback and grape seed Energy bra, and power purple swiftly 1/2 zip in case it got a bit chilly.  I was totally purpled out!  I wore my New Balance Minimus Road shoes because I love them for golf.

Thursday 9/20
What I did:  Day 2 of working out in am.  Weight lifting again and worked on arms, followed with 8 sprints.  I actually really love running in the morning.

What I wore:  Lululemon cool racerback in heathered angel blue, with bright blue Flow Y bra under.  Bright blue Run: Passion crops, and Nike Frees.

I wore my (older) angel blue Define jacket as to/from.  I guess I wore a lot of blue!  Not sure what was up with me being all matchy matchy this week.  This is not normally the case, as you probably already know.  =)

I went to a happy hour for a coworker's birthday that night, and the up at 4:30 thing was wearing me out, so I did not wake up on Friday morning on time as I had intended!  Too bad.  I actually ended up not making it to the gym on Saturday either, so I now have to jump to today.  =(

Sunday 9/23
What I did:  This morning I went to play golf, then I went to a yoga class which involved a lot of stretching.  That was good for me since I've been weight lifting and running so much lately.

What I wore:  For golf, I wore my cool racerback in static very violet and my Hot Move shorts - it was so hot out there today!  I wore my New Balance shoes as usual for golf.

Notice what I'm holding in my hand in this photo??  Yep the new iPhone 5!!!  It was shipped to me on Friday and I was so excited!  My old phone had been dropped many times and the screen had large cracks and a black spot.  But I didn't want to spend money to fix the screen again (yep, not the first time I had done that) and instead waited for the new one instead!  Needless to say, I was one of the first people to pre-order the new iphone when it became available for order online.  :)  The camera is definitely better than the older one.  I'm pretty happy about that.

I think this purple tights look is growing on me.  =)  I'm starting to think that I should venture out of blacks and grays more often.

And that is all for this week!  It is getting late and I am hitting the sacks so I can get up early for a long week at work again.  Bleh!

Lululemon Define Jacket in Pow Pink!

I really wanted to buy the pow pink Define Jacket when it first came out, but I have no idea why I didn't!  I think I forgot about it and then it was gone.  But I got one on ebay for like $70!  So I am pretty happy to have saved 30 bucks by waiting an extra couple months.  It arrived today and I love it!

Out of all Lululemon core jackets, I like the Define the best.  But this is only my third Define jacket after angel blue and currant.  I guess I try not to spend too much money on non-technical pieces.  It is too hot here to wear a jacket for any physical activity no matter what time of year, so I only wear these jackets as to/from the gym or just to wear around running errands.  Therefore it is not really that economical for me to spend 100 bucks a pop for these.  But I still love them and get tempted!  Just have to be really picky about the colors.  I am glad to add pow pink as one of them, because I had always regretted not getting it the first time it came out years ago.

Lulu Handbags Rocker Stud Clutch

I recently bought this Lulu Handbag Rocker Stud Clutch from Hautelook for only $11, down from original price of $45.  I think that's so awesome.

I actually really like the look of this clutch, and it would go with a lot of things.  I was surprised though at how large it really is.  I guess I didn't really read the dimensions, which are 14 inches wide by 6.5 inches high.  I thought it was half the size!  But it's ok.  There are actually 2 side pockets inside as well as 4 card slots inside.  I can totally fit my big checkbook sized wallet, my phone, my keys and my makeup inside with no problems!  It doesn't have a zipper closure though, just the flip top with one snap button.  So there is risk that some stuff may fall out.  But maybe I'm just paranoid.  There is also no shoulder strap hidden inside.  But for 11 bucks I really am pretty happy with it and can't complain!  I actually used it last weekend and everyone kept telling me how cute it was!  I didn't tell them how cheap it was though.  =)

Sunday Funday!!

This will be a very short post, since I don't have very many workouts/outfits to share this week.  I went to San Diego this weekend for a friend's bachelorette party, and the week wasn't so good as far as working out goes - I kind of came down with something and got a little sick.  I wanted to take it easy so I wouldn't get worse, especially for the weekend.  I think I'm allergic to something in the air in San Diego though, because I could not stop sneezing!  Not fun.  But today we went to Temecula for wine tasting, and it was really fun, but it made me very tired.  Oh, and last night we went to this amazingly beautiful restaurant in La Jolla that is literally on the ocean called Marine Room.  I had this yummy lobster tail dinner:

Wish I could eat like this everyday lol.

Anyways, so now onto my workouts which was only 3 times - I would have gone 4 times, but when I tried going to yoga on Monday night, I ended up circling trying to find parking for like half an hour and ended up just driving home.  Hate that!

Tuesday 9/11
What I did:  Weights - bicep and triceps.

What I wore:  Lululemon Tri Y tank in mint, and Run:Passion crop in bright blue, with New Balance Minimus Road shoes.

Wednesday 9/12
What I did:  Weights again - legs day.

Thursday 9/13
What I did:  Weights - back.

And that's it for the week!  Too bad I couldn't have gone more often.  But I plan to make up for it this week though!  Now it is bed time from all the wine I had today.  =)

Lululemon Run: Shorty Short

I've been wanting to get a pair of short spandex-y type of workout shorts for a while, so when I saw the Run: Shorty Short on the we made too much section, I decided to get a pair even though I had never tried them on and they are final sale.  I did read the reviews which mostly said to size up, so I ordered a size 6 in the faded dot embossed black/flash light combo.  They arrived today, and I sure am glad I sized up, because I don't think I could fit into a 4.

But with that said, I think these appear longer on me than they do on the web model below, maybe because she's probably taller than me / has longer legs.  Or just different point of view.

Anyway, so I'm actually kind of glad that they are longer than I thought.  If they were shorter, they'd probably dig into the inner thigh area and make an unpleasant looking indent.  They look look shorter from the back though - here is a close up on me (sorry for the bad pic):

I actually find these shorts very comfortable.  There is gripper at the bottom of them so they stay in place very well.  I did some running man tests and they did not move at all, like the reviews online say. I'm quite impressed with that.  The 2 large side pockets are great, I think I can play tennis with these on and fit tennis balls in the pockets.  The faded dot print is pretty subtle unless you look very up close.  I would have preferred to order the solid black version, but that one only had size 4 left.  But I don't actually mind this print.

Here are the web shots that show closer detail of them:

Kind of a bummer that these are only $10 off regular price of $54.  But when I was at the store last time I only saw them on sale in the lilac high noon dot print which I will definitely not wear.  I probably missed out on the dark colors.  Oh well!  I think I can use them enough to make them worth the price.  :)

Sunday Funday!

It's this time of the week again!  I swear time is going by faster and faster every week.  Someone told me that that is a sign of getting older - maybe it is so!  I had a pretty action packed weekend.  I actually went and got a new car yesterday!  I got the 2013 Jetta, in a charcoal gray color.  Too bad I don't have a picture of the actual car, but it is this one here on the right:

I actually really like the new Jetta body style.  And I really like the price.  I am leasing it, because I always like to lease cars so I can change my mind and switch every few years.  VW has some pretty good leasing deals right now, but I haggled down the price a lot so I think I got a good deal.  I really enjoy the idea of having an inexpensive car right now.  The last car I leased, which was a fun Mercedes  roadster - convertible hardtop (SLK class), costed me at least $1000 a month with payments, taxes, insurance and gas.  Not to mention the mandatory maintenance that would cost $500 a pop for an oil change or something ridiculous like that.  I could not wait to return it.  This one is like 1/4 of the price and VW provides free maintenance!  Saving money is good (I think I am getting older).  :D  So happy with it right now.  It also has a gigantic trunk space that I can permanently leave my golf clubs in.

Anyway, so aside from that, this week has also been a pretty good workout week for me.  I actually went and did stuff 6 days of the week!  I love that.  I think it's good to be active almost daily, even if it's just something low impact.

Monday 9/3
What I did:  I went to hit some golf balls and then played a round of 9-hole game with a friend.  It was way fun.

What I wore:  Lululemon cool racerback in raspberry, with pow pink Free To Be bra under.  And my Astro crops in black/bon bon, and New Balance Minimus Road shoes - these shoes are pretty good for golf.

Tuesday 9/4
What I did:  Went to my usual Tuesday evening tennis lesson.

Wednesday 9/5
What I did:  I went weight lifting and worked on my chest.  Followed by 5 one-minute sprints at the end.

Thursday 9/6
What I did:  Weight lifting again, focusing on shoulders and followed by 6 one-minute sprints at the end.

What I wore:  Lululemon swiftly tank in pink mist, with flash Centered Energy bra under - I've washed this bra many times and it still managed to bleed!!!  Ughhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!  Hopefully it will come out of the tank.  I also wore my Ebb & Flow crops in black.

Friday 9/7 - Rest day

Saturday 9/8
What I did:  Interval training class with lots of running and weight stations in between.

What I wore:  Lululemon cool racerback in electric orange, with bright blue Flow Y bra under.  And Run Fast shorts.  And my Nike Frees which I tend to not wear much nowadays.  Too unstable.

Sunday 9/9
What I did:  I got up super early today to go workout.  Took another interval training class.  This time  was kind of interesting since we did 5 minute runs, with push-ups and crunches in between.  Repeat a bunch of times.  After that, I went to my golf lesson and played for like 2 hours.  So fun!!!

What I wore:  Lululemon pearl luxtreme cool racerback in pigeon, with white Flow Y bra under and my new pig pink Jog Skirt.  I like light gray and pink together, especially since the waistband of the skirt is also gray!

Alright that is it!  My lap top is acting up so I better wrap this up before it decides to delete everything I just wrote.  I hope to have another good workout week this coming week!  I'm so happy with my extra-curricular activities lately of tennis and golf.  It's great to incorporate something fun into the mundane workout routine!

Lululemon Run: Jog Skirt in Pig Pink

My latest ebay order came and it is the Lululemon Run: Jog Skirt in pig pink!  I have been playing tennis a lot lately, so these running skirts are really good for it.  They are also good for golf too since it's been so hot here lately and playing golf in the 100 degree heat requires as little clothing as possible.

I only have 2 running skirts up until now - the Jog Skirt in coal, and the Energy Skirt in potion purple.  I went to the Lulu store and tried on the Pacesetter skirt, but it doesn't look good on me - it is a few inches too long I think.  Not sure if they can hem it or not, I didn't ask.  It may be too much work.  So I was happy to find a jog skirt on ebay in a pretty pink color.

I actually like this newer version of jog skirt better than my old coal one.  The material is stiffer, so it stays in place better.  The waistband is coal and white stripes.  I like the pink and gray color combo.  Here's a close up:

I can't wait to wear this and test it out!

Lululemon Hot Class Tank in Senorita Pink!

I am very excited, because I have now completed my Lululemon Hot Class tank collection with the latest addition of the senorita pink one!

I freaking love this tank, and I now have it in all the colors I wanted!  Including bold blue, chirp, coal/faded zap, and coal/purple crush (I sold my lagoon one and returned the violaceous one).  I honestly think this is one of the best tanks from Lululemon for me.  I love it for hot yoga and just about anything else.  The sheer luon jersey material is super soft and I could just wear it forever.  Senorita pink is also such a gorgeous color as well, and I love the black contrast.  I've been looking for this tank in this particular color for years, so I'm very excited!  Now I can stop looking for it on ebay!

Late Sunday Funday!

I know today is Monday, but since it is the long Labor Day weekend, it kind of counts as Sunday.  =)  This has been a long week for me, with lots of stuff going on.  And I was only able to work out 4 times.  One time was a tennis lesson, so that doesn't really count, which brings my count down to 3.  Kind of unacceptable.  I'd like to go at least 5 times a week!  But oh well... it is what it is.  Hopefully this coming week will be better in the workout department.

I took Monday off as rest day, and had a work event on Tuesday night so I skipped my usual tennis lesson.  I went on Wednesday night instead to make up for it.  But I've been doing so badly with tennis!  I have not had time to practice.  So it actually frustrates me every time I go to a lesson.  And then I get even worse when I'm flustered.  So yeah... gotta find a way to get more practice in.

Wednesday 8/29
What I did:  Tennis lesson.

What I wore:  It's been so hot lately, like 85 degrees at 9 pm!  I wore my Lululemon cool racerback in lavender, with my Hot Move short and as always, my Adidas adizero adios 2 shoes.

Thursday 8/30
What I did:  Went to the gym and lifted - worked on legs for like an hour and a half!  Then ran sprints at the end.  I was very happy when my legs started shaking from working so hard.  =)

I also took a photo of my work outfit since it was a little bit unusual.  I wore a simple black t-shirt, with this black tuxedo vest from Zara.  And my Express Wide Waistband Editor pants in this black/gray dotted pattern.  Basically, the thinking for this was that since it's been so hot here lately, I really just felt like wearing a t-shirt to work.  But made it look more acceptable with a vest over.  And less waitress-like since it was a black shirt instead of white.  =)

Friday 8/31
What I did:  Went to lift weights and worked on back.

On Friday I wore my $14 Forever 21 shirt dress to work, lol.  It was probably a little too short for work though.  I was in a hurry in the morning and didn't even look at myself in the mirror until I got to work. Good thing it was the Friday before a long holiday weekend!

The stupid belt broke half way through the day though!  I probably ate too much or something, because when I took a deep breath, it bursted open.  I actually had to laugh about it since I found it hilarious.  That's what you get for shopping at a cheap store I guess!  I still like this dress though.  And have many other belts I can use with it.

Saturday 9/1
What I did:  I went back to CorePower, and did a hot yoga/pilates fusion class.  Dang.... what was I thinking?!  It was so hot out already, and then I had to go workout in a hot room for an hour.  I really felt like fainting at some point.  And I was soaked from head to toe.

What I wore:  Lululemon Hot Class tank in bold blue, with Ebb & Flow crops in deep indigo.  These 2 items are by far my favorite for hot yoga!

I actually wore my Express t-shirt over this outfit as to/from, because I went to get a mani/pedi prior to class and didn't want to wear just a workout tank.  I totally forgot I had this t-shirt, but I'm glad I found it since I like it!

And that concludes this week's workouts and outfits!  I hope that you all are enjoying your long weekend!  Mine has been very much event-filled, to say the least.  I'm ready to relax tonight and then go back to work tomorrow - for some reason 4 day work weeks always feels the longest to me!
