Python... Cheetah... Burgandy!

One of my favorite colors to wear is burgandy.  I think it works well with my skin tone and hair color, and I love that it can act like a neutral color without being black or gray.  So, I got 2 pairs of pants in the same color tone!

First, I have to confess that I've been wanting these 7 For All Mankind burgandy snake print skinny jeans forever!  But I never pulled the trigger, even at the discounted price they are selling on amazon.  But I saw them on Ruelala last week for $69!  Down from the original $259 price tag.  That's the cheapest I'd seen them go for.  I also happened to have some credit from Ruelala along with free shipping.  So I paid about $50 for them, and I'm a very happy camper right now!

I ordered them in size 27, which is the bigger of the two sizes I normally get from 7.  I prefer the size up in skinny fit jeans because I don't want them to be too tight.  I'm actually really happy I sized up, because these fit tight!  Although I do think my butt and thighs have gotten bigger from the extra food and extra leg day!  So maybe it's me.  Once I wiggle in and pull them up, the waist fits perfectly so that's good!  I hate it when pants dig in at the waist, it's so uncomfortable!

The inseam on these is 28 inches, so they actually end past my ankles, right above my feet.  Since I prefer ankle pants, I just rolled them up a couple inches and created a cuff.  I think it looks better this way!

I love the high gloss snake print!  It actually looks more subtle than I thought they would.

The second pair I got have also been on my radar for a while!  They are the Splits59 Raquel pant in scarlet/liquid cheetah!  I have 3 Splits59 items in this color and I absolutely LOVE it!  The Raquel pant in this color was sold out by the time I decided I wanted them.  So I finally found a pair on ebay!  Yay!

All my Splits59 bottoms are size XS, including the Raquel Expression pant which is the same style but different color.  But these scarlet ones are size S.  I took a chance because they don't pop up on ebay very often, and I figured I wouldn't really workout in them anyway so a looser fit is ok.

When I first took them out of the package and held them up, they looked quite big.  I was worried for a second, but they actually fit well - maybe my butt and thighs have really gotten more muscular!!!  Hmm... this is what I've been working towards, but now I'm not so sure I like the idea of having to buy all new pants!  I'd die!!!  Need to contain this budonkadonk!  Lol!

Anyway, I really love the liquid cheetah detail of these pants - it just adds a little extra something!  The material of these pants actually feel really nice, softer than other Splits59 bottoms I have.  They are a couple inches too long on me, and I'm actually thinking of getting them hemmed into crops since they are fitted through the calves anyway.  But I also like being able to wear them with wedge sneakers as casual wear.  So, we'll see!  Totally a first world problem.

Splits59 Raquel Expression Flared Tight - Best Surprise Ever!

I got the best surprise package ever from the awesome team at Splits59 - their new Raquel Expression Flared Tights!  These are the Jackson Pollack inspired limited edition Raquels!  I was actually just checking them out online earlier, and then they showed up at my door step a couple days later!  Hmmm... when I first saw the package, I thought my shopping habits were getting worse and I had started ordering stuff in my sleep!  Lol!

I love the placement of the paint splatter on the pants where it's more concentrated at the top and fades towards the bottom.  That gives the pants a nice ombre effect, and strategically camouflages the areas that need it the most.  I love that they used both black and blue paint as well.  Each pair of pants is hand drip painted, so no two pairs are exactly alike!

I have never tried on the Raquel pants before, and have always been curious.  The main reason I never got a pair was because I thought the 32.5 inch inseam would be too long on me as I am only 5'5.  So I couldn't wait to see how they fit!

In size XS, which is my normal size at Splits59, these fit me quite differently than the model in the photos.  They are very fitted all the way down to the calves (like how tights would fit), then they flare out at the bottom.  If I put on a size S pair, I'd suspect that they would fit more loosely like on the model.  The length is definitely longer on me as well, but luckily I have my trusted wedge sneakers!   I feel like these pants totally elongate the legs visually, especially combined with the wedge sneakers.

Aren't these wild??  If you run your finger over the paint, you can feel the texture as well.  Here are some closer up shots!

I was afraid that being white, they'd be sheer in the butt.  But they are not at all, and the paint also helps cover things up.  I think they are cute-butt pants!

The silver Splits59 logo is kind of camouflaged with this print as well:

Hidden pocket on waistband... I love the blue lining that matches the blue paint!

I think these pants are sooooo different and totally cool!  Although they are made of the technical supplex material, I think they are too pretty to work out in!  Haha!  But they would be the perfect pants to wear to pilates or yoga on the weekend, then out to brunch afterwards.

They also come in Nova tight style!

Anyway, I'm super excited for my new pants!  Huge thank you to Splits59 for sending them my way!  I will definitely get a lot of use out of them!

Lululemon Wunder Under Pant in Herringbone!

Omg, why didn't I buy the Lululemon herringbone Wunder Under pants when they first came out like 3 months ago??  I just went to the store yesterday to see what I could exchange my black pique Skinny Will pants for.  They happened to have one last pair of herringbone wunder under pants in my size.  Why were they not completely sold out?!  Lol.  I tried them on, and knew immediately that they would come home with me and be loved to pieces!

What was I thinking not getting them before??  Oh, I think it's because of this picture that completely does not represent how cute they are in real life:

Were those that came out around beginning of September a different pair?  Why do they look totally different from mine?  The ones I bought appear to be darker, and the stitching is the same color as the pant.

Update:  Found out that those are different!  I got the new release that haven't been uploaded online yet... no wonder!  They are darker and I like them much better because they don't have the contrasting colored stitching - I am finding out that I'm really not a fan of that look.  Here's a comparison pic a nice lady posted on facebook.  Older ones that came out in September are on the left, and the newer ones on the right.

This is what they look like on me:

These are actually my first pair of Lululemon full length wunder unders!!!  Can you believe it?  I only bought crops before.  I would have preferred crops in these as well, but since they are so damn soft and comfy, I can't complain.  Full length is great for wearing under boots anyway.  I will most likely be wearing them around as casual/lounge wear and not as workout wear.  Even though it feels so divine, it's thick and rather hot to sweat in.  Maybe yoga or something low impact.  But I can't even remember the last time I did yoga lol.

These feel so much nicer than the black pique luon, it was a no brainer.  I gladly gave them back the Skinny Wills in exchange for these.  I even got $17 back.

Full length wunder unders are quite long!  This is how long they are on me... kind of pools at the ankles a little.  Maybe I'm just a shortie.  For reference, I'm 5'5 and "regular" length at most clothing stores are perfect for me.  These are my regular size, 4.  Although they fit a little tighter than regular luon I think.  Not enough to size up though, in my opinion.  I actually love that they fit tighter because I guess I'm kind of shrinking down to the size 2 territory so these happen to fit me very well.

They make the butt look pretty darn good, if I do say so myself!  Lol... but seriously, they mold your butt better than other pants, probably because they are a little more compressive.

I actually also tried on the pique Skinny Will pants again at the store.  Pique is much thicker and nicer than black pique.  But I couldn't get over the horizontal lines on my ass, it looked really weird.  The lower calf logo didn't help either, so it was an easy decision to get these herringbone pants.

I'm so excited, because I'm going up to Nor Cal for Thanksgiving in a couple days.  It's colder up there.  I'll live in these pants, my boots/Uggs, and either my Don't Hurry Be Happy pullover, or my Off The Mat jacket!  Woohoo!  :P

Lululemon Dance Studio Pants in Concord Grape!

I'm so excited because I got a pair of concord grape Dance Studio pants on ebay!  I bought these in the crop version, and I had always regretted not getting the pants version as well!  I love the crops a lot and wear them often.  Now that the weather is cooler and I play a lot more golf, Dance Studio pants are really awesome to have.

Here they are on me (oh yes, I am back at home and Whiskey is making an appearance again!):

Anyways, I love this deep purple color.  It goes with a lot of different tops.  I think I might just love them as much as my bordeaux drama ones!

Lululemon Dance Studio Pants in Bordeaux Drama

I must apologize first for missing the "Sunday Funday" post yesterday.  I've been so busy lately, and spent the weekend in Santa Barbara.  Did not get back until very late.  But I had a very bad week as far as working out goes, and do not have many outfits to share anyways.  So I will just combine it with this week's.  So far I am planning on working out a lot to make up for lost time!

Anyways, so while I was in Santa Barbara, I went to visit the Lululemon store.  I finally caved and bought the Dance Studio Pants in bordeaux drama that I've been eying.  I have 2 pairs of Dance Studio Pants so far, in coal (unlined) and white (lined).  I love both of them dearly, but I really don't *need* them.  I usually wear them as to/from the gym when the weather is cooler.  So they are kind of expensive for what they are used for.  But I really couldn't resist them in bordeaux drama!

The other two pairs I have are both in size 2, which is one size down from my usual bottom size at Lululemon.  However, I bought these in size 4.  They are definitely looser in the waist, but way different in the legs than my size 2 pairs.  Besides, the store only had one pair of these left in this color, and they happened to be size 4.

Since I bought the Wunder Unders in bordeaux, I've been loving this color.  And have been finding surprising items in my closet that go with it.  So I feel somewhat justified with having these Dance Studio pants in this color, even though I paid the new inflated price of $108 for them.  These pants are actually one of my favorite styles at Lulu, and I think that now that I'm playing golf a lot, I can wear them out on the course when the weather cools.  Or maybe I'm just finding every excuse to keep them! Ha!  That wouldn't be a first.  =)

Lulu Overload!!! Lots of New Stuff!

My big box of Lulu stuff came today.  I don't think I ever ordered this much stuff at once before!  But it's super fun, like opening 10 Christmas presents at once!

I think I will start with what I love and will for sure keep down to what I think I will return:

Stuff Your Bra tank in fossil/flash, and flash/deep coal Speed Shorts.

Omg, love this tank!  It's super comfy and supportive.  I actually ordered a size up in this tank - 6.  I saw it the other day at the store in a different color, and it looked so small.  So I figured it might run tight.  The 6 fits well, the bra portion is still supportive and doesn't dig in.  The body of the tank is loose fitting, and is very pretty with the subtle jacquard mesh print on it.  the bottom hem is elastic and it also has plastic gripper that keeps it in place.  It actually reminds me a lot of my Light Up tank from the chest down, which I love.

Here are some official pics from Lululemon's website:

I think it's cool that you can put stuff in the bra, but I don't think I would really do it, unless it's just some cash or something really light.  I will definitely not do this:

LOL - why is there tissue stuffed in the bra???  I don't ever need tissue when I run.  I also don't need chapstick, and it looks ridiculous with the iphone in - I tried it.  When I first saw the photo of this tank in rose quartz a couple weeks ago all stuffed up, I thought it was an April Fool's joke.

Let's talk about the Speed Shorts - I love it in flash!!  It's actually flash jacquard mesh too, but you can only see up close.  I don't know what it is with flash, but it seriously makes you look tanner than you are.  I got some sun last weekend in San Diego, but not nearly as tan as I look against flash.  Love that! The shorts are so cute, but I think I should size up to 6.  I haven't bought Speed shorts in a long time, and last time I ordered them I thought the butt portion was way too big and loose.  Now it's a cute fit, but I prefer the looser fit on the model photos.  So I'm gonna go to the store and see if they have any size 6s left - they are all sold out online!

Next up, I will definitely be keeping the concord grape Dance Studio Crop, shown with the white swiftly LS.

I love my Dance Studio crops.  I have 3 pairs - black, wren, and white (with liner).  So these are my 4th pair.  It sounds a bit excessive, but I wear them a lot in the summer.  I might even consider getting a 5th pair.  They are pretty much my go-to when I can't figure out what else to wear.  They are also great for traveling.  They don't wrinkle and they are super light weight.  You can literally stuff them anywhere in your bag and be good to go once you arrive.  I love the concord grape color in these.  I tried on the pant version and couldn't commit to the color, but definitely can in the crop version.  I ordered a size 4 which is the same size as my other Dance Studio crops, but these are definitely looser in the waist.  I thought that when I tried on the pants in the store but now I have confirmation that they indeed run bigger in this color.  But it's ok, I'm keeping them in this size.

I always wear my Dance Studio Crops cinched up on the bottom, not like how the model has them.

Or slightly lower like the web banner photo is really cute too - they look great with green shoes!

I think I have a new found love for flash.  It makes me happy.  I also love it in the cool racerback, even though it is heathered.  The color looks so much nicer in person than in the web photo.  It's a lot brighter, like a highlighter color.  Bright colors seriously make you look more tan.  This cool racerback fits tighter than some of my other ones - I'd say it fits about the same as raspberry, black manifesto and aruba cool racerbacks which I always found to fit a bit tighter than others in the same size.  Maybe the older versions (with the little round size sticker on the inside of the hem) fit tighter.

I am wearing the White Denim Embrace Crop with the tank - now we are treading into the "maybe keep" category.  I don't know how I feel about them.  The white denim looks a bit murky, almost like a light gray.  And the bottom patch portion is a crisp white so there is definitely a contrast.  You can't see this as well on the web photo since they took the picture white on white.

I ordered these in size 6 as well because I wanted them to be looser since they are white.  They are very comfortable on, but I don't know if I like the waist.  On me, it kind of goes right on top of the love handle area, and accentuates it.  I feel like it's not as flattering as most other Lulu bottoms.  So I will likely take this one back.

I also ordered 2 of the Jacquard Mesh SE cool racerbacks, in white and rose quartz.  But I really wish there was another color available!

Here's the white one, I might keep it but leave the tag on in case another color comes out.

I actually really love this mesh material.  It's so soft and stretchy.  It's got a very organic feel to it.  It's slightly see-through, as you can see in the above photo.  You can totally see the waistband of the shorts.  I was wearing a white bra under, but if I had a flash bra it would look so cute as the color shows through.

Here are better quality photos of it:

I like this pattern but I'm not sure if it looks like a table cloth in white.  But I definitely like it better than rose quartz.  I'm returning the rose quartz.

This color just doesn't appeal to me that much.  It looks a bit murky and old.  I was hoping it would look better in person than online, which seems like the case a lot of the times.  But unfortunately not this time.

Ok, lastly, I bought the concord grape It's A Cinch Dress.  This color is very pretty.  Why can't they make a mesh cool racerback in it?!  Maybe it will come out as I hold onto my white.

I think it's a cute dress, but nothing special especially for $88.  So I'm thinking I will take it back.  Plus, it is a bit see-through so I don't know if I can wear it without bathing suit or at least boy shorts under.  I thought it'd be a cute dress to just throw on in the summer for casual wear, but I think it costs too much for what it is.

There are cinch strings on both sides so you can wear it like a tunic.  I don't think I'd do this though, I think it looks weird.  Just give me a cool racerback in it.  Lol.

This web model looks so cute in it though.  This is the reason I bought it to begin with.

I think these web photos make the pattern look way more obvious than in person, probably because they had very bright lighting.  When I put it on, I could barely tell it's patterned, except the chest area with my white bra under.  You can even see the outline of the model's legs on the bottom 2 photos, so that gives you an idea of the sheerness.

Anyway, I think I'll try to visit the store this week to return some of this stuff and look at other things.  I wouldn't mind picking up something else in flash!  I'd also like to try on the Pure Balance tank and hope they fixed the fit from the last batch which was very unflattering on my chest - kind of took them apart and spread them in opposite directions.  I'd also like to try on the Chaturanga tank but won't buy it in any of the current color selections.  Why can't this one come in flash?  Or a solid concord grape?

I am happy that I didn't fall absolutely in love with everything I ordered online, because the whole order was almost $550 lol.  Maybe I'll be able to recoup about $250 if I return the dress, crops, and mesh cool racerback.  It's crazy how much this workout stuff costs!
