Fendi Peekaboo Monster Bag!!!

At last, I pulled the trigger and got myself the Fendi Peekaboo Monster Bag that I've been obsessed with foreeever!  I've seriously been wanting this bag for the longest time, ever since the first moment I laid eyes on it.  But the price tag of $5300 is a bit hard to swallow!  But I finally talked myself into it.  I've never really spent that much money on a single bag.  My last high priced bag was my Balanciaga City bag which was a birthday gift from my bf, and that was 3 years ago.  Bags just don't get me as excited as shoes do lol.  So, since I finally found a bag that I absolutely LOVE and dream about, I was finally like:  Ok, let's do it!  None of my other bags even come close to this price tag, so this is my first "ultra luxury" bag lol.  Here's the link for this bag on the Fendi website.

Of course, Fendi makes the Peekaboo style in many different colors each season and 4 different sizes (large, regular, mini and micro).  This one is the regular size.  Unfortunately, among the regular sized Peekaboo bags, this one is priced highest.  All the other colors I've seen are in the high 3000s or low 4000s.  But I just had my heart set on this one!  Sigh.  But the whole inner compartment where the monster yellow eyes are is made of python so I guess that's more expensive.  The rest of the bag is calf skin and it is super nice.

By the way, it is extremely hard for the bag to dip in the front like the photo above.  I literally had to push it down and take a picture real fast lol.  It looks more like this on its own:

But here's another reason I was more willing to shell out big dough for this bag - when it's closed up, the monster eyes are completely hidden and it just looks like a black, professional bag!  I love the versatility.  I could totally use this bag to go to an interview and no one would know there's monster eyes hidden inside... hehe.

When it's closed up, it looks exactly the same from the front or back:

Twist lock closure on both sides:

Here is what it looks like from the side when the front part is open:

And closed...

It also comes with a removable shoulder strap:

You can adjust the length of the strap:

Here's the attachment hardware:

It may be a bit hard to see, but the entire inner panel where the yellow eyes are, is made of python:

Close up:

I love that the zipper pocket is red on the inside, and by the way, this is the only zipper pocket that the bag has:

Here's what the inside looks like on the back compartment - it's a very soft and velvety material instead of python on the front compartment:

Here are its legs  =) :

Another thing that comes with the bag that I thought was super cute is the rain coat!

It even has a picture of the bag on it... adorbs!

Here's the bag wearing it lol:

So cute!  I guess for that price, it better not get wet in the rain!  Hahaha.

Lastly, here it is on me!  I couldn't wait to use it already and went out to dinner with it.  I think the size is perfect.  I would actually struggle to keep it full on both front and back compartments.

I really love how subtle it is.  It really lives up to its name!  Like a monster in hiding lol.  Before I got this bag, I was considering the blue version, but I'm glad I went with black in the end.

I have been just staring at it and petting it nonstop since I got it.  It makes me happier than I even thought possible... lol!  I know this is a splurge item, but that's what I call money well spent!  =D

Fendi Monster Bag Bugs Leather Chain Clutch

I've been loving the Fendi monster designs for a while now, and I finally pulled the trigger on the monster bag bugs clutch.a couple weeks ago when it was on sale on Ruelala.  Not much of a discount, but at least I saved a couple hundred bucks.  I don't usually feel strongly towards most purses.  I can acknowledge that some are very cute, but I just don't feel the "must have" feeling that makes me want to shell out thousands of dollars on one.  Not like shoes!  But for some reason, I just love the monster designs from Fendi.  I really want a monster Peekaboo bag, but that is definitely above my price level comfort zone for now lol.

Anyway, this bag bugs clutch is sooooo cute.  Although it's very little.  Even the Ruelala price cost me a pretty penny, which was $740 and I think that's a little bit much for its size.  But it retails for $950, so that's pretty crazy.  I'm only keeping it because I truly love it lol.  And, I talked myself into it since I haven't really bought an expensive bag in a long time.

It comes in a cute little box too:

And a cute little dust bag:

This clutch comes in both silver and gold hardware.  I don't usually like gold, but it actually doesn't look bad in this design.  But I eventually went with silver.  I just think silver will match better with my wardrobe.

Magnetic closure:

The chain strap is removable, and it's attached on the inside of the flap:

The inside is pretty simple.  Only one little pocket.

Basically the width of this clutch can fit my iphone 6 with its case on.  So if I had the plus version of the iphone, it would not fit lol.  Forget about fitting in my wallet.  It is 2 inches deep though.  So you can easily put some makeup, keys, etc. in it.  So, yes I wish it was a little bigger!  But alas, what are you gonna do.  This is how it looks on me:

They actually also make a chained wallet version of this clutch.  The link shows the gold hardware, actually.  The wallet version of this clutch wider, but thinner than the one I got.  Although it does come with pockets so it may not be a bad idea.

Here's a pouch version - it looks to be the biggest size of the 3.  But it doesn't come with any chain or straps so that doesn't work for me.

Anywayyyy... obviously a splurge item.  =P  But it seriously makes me happy to stare at this cute little monster lol.  I'm pretty sure I can make it work with every single outfit I have too!

Vince Order!

The very first website I purchased from after Thanksgiving dinner was Vince!  In fact, they are still having 25% off everything (code WRAPUP25) until midnight!  As usual, I love everything I got.  Vince has got to be the most consistent brand I know.  So I don't even mind giving them all my money lol.

First thing I got was the Dempsey Knee High Boot in ceramic which I have been wanting to get as soon as they came out!  I know I just got a pair of Tory Burch boots and I live in LA where there's almost no season for boots ever, BUT I just love them!!  =P

I love gray boots.  Been wanting a pair forever.  These boots are not cheap though.  They were originally $695, but they are now on sale for $417 and you get an extra 25% off.  So that makes them about $312 which is a lot more reasonable.  It's pretty much the top end of what I'd pay for a pair of boots considering how little use I get out of them!  I love these though.  They are very slimming and even though they look high, they are extremely comfortable!  I don't even know how that's possible.  I compared them side by side with the Tory Burch Sarava boots I just got and they seem to be exactly the same height.  But these feel SO much more comfortable so I don't know what's up with that.

I got them in size 7, which is my usual boot size (regular shoe size +1).  I think they are the right size.  But if I wanted a snug fit around both the feet and legs, I may go down to 6.5 or something.  But I'm happy with the way the size 7 fits.

Half zip on the inner side.  But pretty easy to put on and take off.

By the way, these boots came in the biggest box you can imagine, with a ginormous dust bag too lol.

I also really love the Colorblock Stripe Superwash Sweater I got.  I like the pattern, and the fit is exactly what I have come to expect from all my other Vince tops.

I got it in size XS too.  The material is mostly merino wool, but it's thin and super soft!  I think the price is pretty much as low as it gets too, at $98 + 25% off.  Here it is on me, including the boots:

The back is slightly longer than the front:

Next, I got the Graphic Stripe Asymmetric Drape Vest (full size run available here) which I have been wanting since I first saw it at Nordstrom when it came out!  I guess it's kind of a similar type of pattern as the top above.  It's a wool and cashmere blend and it's actually thicker than I thought it would be.  But I'm glad it's sleeveless, since that means I won't overheat in it.  It was on sale for $150, which is not bad.

It doesn't come with a strap or any other closure mechanism, so it can only be worn open.  I got it in size S, and it's definitely a comfortable fit.

It's like wearing a comfortable blanket lol.

If I want a more fitted look, I can easily add any belt to it and it will have a totally different look:

I am using an Ann Taylor belt here:

Lastly top I got was the Rib Sleeve Drape Front jacket in off white.  I love white blazers.  But for some reason I find most blazers to be uncomfortable after a few hours of wear.  Usually the back of the collar starts to put too much pressure on my neck and it gives me a headache.  It's a weird issue and I've never heard of anyone else with it.  But it happens to me with almost every blazer I have!  I was hoping this one would be better since it has no collar... and also the ribbed sleeve would make it very comfortable.

The smallest size available when I bought it was size 2.  I was worried it would be a bit too big, since Vince runs on the large side, and the smallest size they made in this blazer was 00.  But I took a chance anyways, because I'd probably wear it open most of the time and this style seems like it would be ok being a little loose.

I think my assessment was correct.  It does fit pretty loosely around the waist.  But I think it looks fine.  It's super comfortable so I'm hoping it won't give me the neck/headache issue!  It ended up being $133 and I think that's a decent price for a blazer.

It doesn't look too bad buttoned up either, but definitely loose.  I like it better unbuttoned.

Ok, the last item I got from Vince was the Signature Collection Stamped Croc Baby Crossbody in "forest".  It's a small bag that can be converted to a clutch by removing the straps.  I like it, 2 for the price of 1.  Hahaha.  And it was $119 after the discount which is not bad either.

For some reason I thought it was going to be slightly bigger than it is though!  The measurements are 8.25 X 6 X 2 inches.  I guess I was imagining an inch or 2 larger in my head.  But my wallet, phone and keys will all fit in it so that's good enough.  I have many large purses anyway!

Here it is on me:

The straps are wrinkly now since they were folded and tucked into the dustbag.

I like the croc skin looking texture, and the color is great!  Will go with a lot.

The straps can be removed by "unbuttoning" from each side of the back of the purse:

There is magnetic closure on the flap so it will stay down nicely.  But here is the under side of the flap:

The inside is pretty simple - just 1 pocket:

And that's everything I got from Vince!  Pretty happy with everything and super relieved about that, since it's all non-returnable!  I hope you were able to score some good deals this weekend as well, either from Vince or elsewhere!  But if you are on the fence, I highly recommend giving Vince a shot.  I own so many Vince pieces now and it never disappoints!
