Sunday Funday!

Wow I haven't been able to write all week!  It's seriously been a crazy week.  I had friends in town visiting this weekend too, so I literally didn't get to breathe until this afternoon.  Well, I hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day!  I don't normally do anything for v-day, but I think it's kind of cute.  I did go to a very nice restaurant on top of the Hollywood Hill for dinner, and it was so packed I couldn't believe it!  I guess everybody is really into this holiday.  I didn't even plan to go out until like 2 hours before lol.  I guess we got lucky since some reservations opened up.  But anyways, this weekend has been very nice to us here in SoCal as well, with weather of 80 degrees and sunny!  But I think it is short lived and will get colder starting tomorrow.  I almost went to the pool though!  I need a tan desperately.  Oh well, some other time!  It feels like summer is almost here.  =)

I am happy that I was able to go workout 4 times this week with my extremely busy schedule and all.  Work has been crazy too, in fact so crazy that I sometimes don't even have time to eat lunch! But I always feel so much better after a workout, so it's totally worth it to make the time.

I took Monday off as a rest day, as usual.  But I do have my work outfit to share!  I wore my Express convertible long sleeve shirt in red lacquer, and Express studio stretch pieced pencil skirt.  I have been obsessed with different tights lately, so I wore my Emilio Cavallini argyle tights - love these!  And Aldo Leanora peep-toe pumps.

It was really cold last week, so I've been wearing my Express military style jacket everyday to work.  I've had this jacket for years and I still wear it a lot.  I have it both black and white too.  I love the all black look sometimes.

Tuesday 2/12
What I did:  Spin, I'm glad I started spinning again, forgot how much work it was!

What I wore:  Lululemon cool racerback in very berry, with white Flow Y bra under and indigo Ebb & Flow crops.  I'm still wearing my Shimano spin shoes here too.

Also wore my Run Brisk in bold blue as to/from.

Wednesday 2/13
What I did:  New Rules of Lifting for Abs, workout A stage 2.  Again.  I realize I've been doing this workout for a long time now.

I also wore my currant brushed Define jacket as to/from.

Thursday 2/14 - Did not workout, but did take a picture of my work outfit.  I realized when I was writing my last post that I hadn't wore my Express Colorblock 2-in-1 dress yet, so I wore that!  And put my Calvin Klein suit jacket over it.

Friday 2/15
What I did:  I had a crazy interval workout!  I first ran for like 30 minutes, with warm-up and lots of 1-minute sprints.  Then I did 4 sets each of 2 different weight workouts, and then I ran 5 more 1-minute sprints on 15 incline!  Nearly killed myself, and then I did 2 more weight workouts of 4 sets each.  I literally was dead afterwards.

What I wore:  Lululemon cool racerback in wish blue with bright blue Flow Y bra under, and bright blue Run: Passion crops.  With Brooks Pure Drift shoes.

Saturday 2/16 - Rest

Sunday 2/17
What I did:  45 minute spin, then 45 min of weights/other types of cardio.

What I wore:  Lululemon Practice Freely tank in heathered paris pink, and black Ebb & Flow crops, with Brooks Pure Drift shoes again.

Oh yes, and my week couldn't be complete without wearing at least once my Lift Your Spirits jacket.  =)

And that's all for this week!  I have a very strict eating and exercising regimen planned for the next 2 weeks, so stay tuned and I hope I can stick to it!  Hehe.

Sunday Funday!

I sort of changed up my workout this week just to do something different.  It's actually working!  Because my whole body, especially my core, has been super sore!  It's crazy, because I do this New Rules of Lifting for Abs workout all the time with heavy weights.  But I guess doing something different is always good.

Tuesday 2/5
What I did:  Yoga - hadn't done yoga in like a month, it always get me sore for a couple days afterwards if I take a break for even a week!

What I wore:  Lululemon Power Y tank in three print, with bordeaux drama wunder under crops.

Wednesday 2/6
What I did:  Spin!  I'm glad I'm getting back into this.  Pretty good workout.

What I wore:  Lululemon cool racerback in electric orange, with bright blue Flow Y bra under.  And Run A Marathon crops.

I wore my Lift Your Spirits jacket as to/from.  I am seriously obsessed with this jacket.  I wear this all the time.  It's perfect for this time of year.  I want it in wish blue too!

I also took a picture of my work outfit from the same day.  I wore my new Express corset pencil skirt, and I paired it with Express shirred long sleeve v-neck shirt, and an Armani Exchange vest over.  Oh and also my new awesome black boots.  By the way, I love my new skirt!  I have already ordered another one in black online!  It's so comfortable and I love the length.

Thursday 2/7
What I did:  I did a hybrid pilates reformer / spin class.  I didn't really want to spin 2 days in a row (my butt still hurts hehe!) but I wanted to try out this class.  It was good, but I think it was too short to do both in 50 minutes though.

What I wore:  Lululemon Tri-Y tank (I forgot the name of this pink, it's very old) and groove pants in senorita pink, with Brooks Pure Drift shoes (although I didn't wear these for pilates nor spin).

I wore my pow pink define jacket as well, so much pink love!

Friday 2/8 - Rest day

Saturday 2/9
What I did:  I finally went to the gym and lifted weights - I continued doing my weight program, still doing stage 2!  I'm too lazy to move onto the next stage... lol.

Sunday 2/10 - Rest again!  My mom came in town and we ate.  Ate a lot!  She even brought me food she cooked which will last the rest of the week.  I probably ate enough today to undo all the hard workouts of the week... sigh...

Two More Express Items Arrived!

The second part of my Express clearance order came today, and I must say that I am so-so about it.  I only ordered 2 things, a sequin-front tank and another pair of wide waistband Editor pants, in maroon.

The tank actually only cost me $9, and it's just a ribbed tank, with sequins all over in the front.  It's a pretty cute fit.  The length is long which I like.  I got it in the only color they had left in a size small, which was silver gray.  I could definitely make use of it.

The Editor pants though, I am kind of disappointed in.  The color is called "maroon" and they look promising online - I had hoped that the color would look more vibrant in person.  The best part is that I got them for only $19!  That's totally a steal since original price is $69.  They only had my size left as well, which is size 0.  But Express is not very consistent in their sizing.  I have 10+ pairs of these same pants in different colors hanging in my closet, and there is a pretty wide variation in fit.  These ones, unfortunately, fit very very tight.  Not to mention the "maroon" color really just looks brown in person.  Like a slightly reddish brown.  But nobody would see these and think that they are maroon.  I'm not too crazy about the color brown, but for the price I would have kept them if they weren't so tight on.  So, even though they are only $19, I gotta return them and spend my moolah on something else.

So I guess nothing too exciting here.  The tank is good but not something that blow my mind.  I guess I'll be going to Express over the weekend to recoup some money from my recent orders!

Express Clearance

Express is having some pretty great deals right now, all the clearance items are 50% off on top of sale price!  I bought like 4 things online, and they were only a little over $50 total.  I actually bought 2 more items later on, but they are still being shipped as we speak.  Out of the 4 things I received today though, I am for sure keeping at least 2!  Definitely returning 1 to the store, and we'll see about the other one.  So here's what I got:

I got this Tweed Studio Stretch Corset Pencil Skirt for work.  It looks pretty short on the model, but it is right above the knees on me, which is a good length for work.  It's super comfortable, and fits perfectly in size 2 - I am always a size 2 in Express suit skirts.  I like the cute corset detail in the front of the skirt, but it is purely decorative.  The color of the skirt is great, I've been wanting to get a grayish colored skirt for a while but haven't seen one I liked in the right price range (hate spending a lot on work clothes) until now - this one was only $19!  Original price was $69.

So I'm keeping that skirt for sure.  And I'm also keeping this Diagonal Striped Knit Mini skirt - this was only $9, and it will be casual going out wear.  I also got it in a size 2, and it fits looser than the pencil skirts.  The material is also stretchy.  I think I could get away with a size 0 as well, but that could easily turn hooch.  So I'm happy with the size 2.  This is an easy skirt to pair with just about any top.  It's not too short, and I could wear heels or boots with it as well.  And come on... 9 bucks down from $49!!!

I really like the color of these Stella Coated Jean Jegging in Black Glitter.  But I got them in size 2, which is the same size as my other pair of Stella jeggings from Express that happen to fit perfectly, and these are too tight!  Ugh!!  So annoying.  They are like on the edge of being too tight around the waist and being able to pull them off.  I don't want muffin top, obviously, but they are so darn cute that I don't want to return them!  The glitter is very subtle on the jeans (which feel more like pant material than jeans to be honest), and just gives them a little bit extra than plain black.  Maybe I'll try to lose a few pounds lol.  But I've made the mistake of "buying clothes too small in the hope of fitting into them one day" in the past and that had never worked out for me.  These were originally selling for $118, and I got them for only $19... such a good deal!  Another reason I am hesitant to return them.  Sigh...

The last thing I got I will no doubt return it.  It is the Clip Dot 2-in-1 Dress in radiant rose.

This dress is the same style as my Color Block 2-in-1 Dress from Express, which I have in a size S and it is a bit loose.

So since the Clip Dot had only a size XS left when I bought it, I figured it would be ok.  But it is definitely too tight.  It was really hard to even put on - it's pullover style.  The top is not stretchy at all, so I had to wrestle with it to get it on.  After I put it on, it didn't look too small, but didn't look that great at all.  The top is loose fitting but I'd prefer it to be even looser for sure.  This one was also only $19, down from $79.  But I know for sure I will not wear this, so better save my $19.

Too Faced Bronzer - Caribbean In A Compact Sun Bunny

I've been a big fan of bronzers from Too Faced for a few years now.  I actually use it as a blush almost, and I put it on around and below my cheek bones.  I also use a little bit of it next to the bridge of my nose on both sides and in some areas of my chin and forehead just to give my face more of an angle.  I seriously love this stuff, it looks very natural on and a little goes a long way.  I've always used and loved the Beach Bunny, which is a compact made of 4 different colors - bronze/soft peach/golden ivory/golden tan.  It's got a nice faint shimmer that just makes you look healthy and glowing.

But last time I went to Sephora to get it again, they were sold out!  I was in desperate need of a new compact, so I had to try the Sun Bunny.  At first I didn't like it as much, because it is darker than the Snow Bunny, and less shimmery.  But then I figured out that if I just used less of it, it actually looked really good!  And less shimmery is also a good thing because the shimmer tends to make my skin look a bit oily in the afternoons.  No such issues with the Sun Bunny.  I seriously use my makeup brush and do 1 or 2 circles lightly on top of the powder, and it's enough to apply to my cheek.  At this rate, this compact will last for a long time!

They also have 2 other colors, one looks way too dark for me, and the other is a very shimmery pink leopard compact that doesn't look like something I'd be interested in either.  But I love both the Snow Bunny and Sun Bunny dearly.  It is a part of my morning makeup routine and I cannot live without it!

Sunday Funday!

Happy Super Bowl Sunday!  I am not really interested in football, so I am blogging during the game lol.  I did enter the square game (don't know the official name of this game) at work, so I need the 49ers to have a score that ends in 8 and Ravens end in 1.  Interestingly enough, that's my birthday!  But the odds of that is so small, I'm not counting on it.  Can you tell my lack of interest in this whole football thing?  Haha.  Beyonce is on right now though, I'm really not impressed by this half time show.  I think we just saw the end of Beyonce lol.

This week I continued to deal with my hand injury =(.  It's not getting any better!  I probably keep hurting it every time I workout, and really should get my lazy butt to see my doctor about it.  But instead I just lifted less weights.  Real smart right?!

Tuesday 1/29
What I did:  Weights, stage 2 workout A.  I did the gauntlet for about 15 minutes before weights though.  I think this is the last time I'll do stage 2, and will move onto 3 next week.

What I wore:  Lululemon No Limit tank in caspian blue, with passion crops in bright blue and Adidas adizero adios 2 shoes.

As to and from, I wore my polar cream Don't Hurry Be Happy pullover and concord grape Dance Studio pants.  It was a cold night!

Wednesday 1/30 - Was going to workout, but napped instead.  =)

Thursday 1/31
What I did:  I went kind of crazy here.  I went to the gym first and ran for about 30 minutes.  I did 10 1-minute sprints, 5 on flat and 5 on steep incline.  I ran as fast as I could and I was really done for afterwards!  But then I drove to Bar Method and did a barre class there.  My legs were really shaking after that!

What I wore:  Lululemon cool racerback in polar cream clarity yellow, with centered energy bra in flash underneath.  For the running part, I wore my Run: Empower crops in coal/passion and Adidas shoes again.  It was a lot of running and I sweated a lot, and my flash bra dyed my yellow cool racerback!  UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!  I've had this bra for SO long already and have washed it many many times, even soaked it in vinegar for a long time once as well.  And it still dyed my shirt during a 30 minute run!  This dye better come out of this tank!  Or I'll be even more upset about this and will be taking the tank to the store for a refund/exchange.  I like the print though.  =(

When I went to Bar Method, I changed into coal/alarming quilt groove pants, and Diane von Furstenburg Lana sandals.

And as to/from, I wore my Lift Your Spirits jacket.

Friday 2/1 - Rest day.  I typically can't make it to the gym on Fridays.  I'm just so tired from working all week by then!  But I did take a picture of my work outfit.  I wore my Mango pleated sheer shirt with Express studio stretch pencil skirt and Aldo Leanora peep-toe pumps.

Saturday 2/2
What I did:  I hadn't done this forEVER, but I took a spin class!  I seriously think it's been years since my last spin class.  I used to spin at least twice a week!  That was when I went to work later in the morning and had time to go workout before work.  Spinning in the evening is just not the same, so I stopped.  My butt is now hurting so bad from the bike saddle!  It feels like the first time after I took a spin class.  =)  I'm going to try to go more often on weekends.  It's a good workout!

The weather here is so weird.  It is now beginning of February and it feels like summer!  It's been mid 70s and sunny the past couple days.  I think it's funny that I was wearing my Don't Hurry Be Happy pullover earlier this week, and then I went out with my short sleeve swiftly shirt yesterday!

Sunday 2/3
What I did:  I also decided to go back into doing pilates, so I went back to Pilates Plus today.  It was a good class!  I even picked up some toezies!

I loved my new tank for pilates!  It's so pretty.  I also wore my Lift Your Spirits jacket as to and from, although I really didn't need it since it was so hot out already in the morning.  I love this jacket though.  The brushed luxtreme on the inside is so comfy!  It's my fav!

Ok and that's it for my workouts and outfits this week!  Haha the Super Bowl got put on hold during the time I was writing this post because of a power outage.  Just started again.  Lol too funny.  I wonder how many people had heart attacks because of it.

Lululemon Practice Freely Tank Mellow Lemon/Burning Yellow

After a long hiatus from Lululemon, I finally bought the new Practice Freely tank in mellow lemon/burning yellow, and I love it!  I haven't been purposefully taking a hiatus, but I just haven't liked anything for the past few months.  So sad.  I used to spend hundreds of dollars every month at Lululemon, but lately the stuff haven't perked my interests at all.  Ok provided I have a huge Lulu wardrobe now and I am probably more picky than before.

Anyway, I have 2 Practice Freely tanks in heathered paris pink and lavender dusk.  I wear both of them all the time, because I love the style and the material.  Luon sheer jersey is seriously my favorite material that Lululemon uses and I have many tanks made of it.  For me, this tank is very versatile and I can wear it to any physical activities... seriously, from yoga and pilates to running or boxing!  And it's nice a loose fitting for the days that I feel bloaty, and yet it does not look baggy.  I just love it!

I hadn't seen either of the colors in this tank in person, and I was surprised when I received it that the burning yellow bra portion was so much darker than the body.  I think online it shows the two colors as much more similar than in person... at least on my monitor.

I think I really like mellow lemon and wouldn't mind another item in this color.  Though I would like to see it in another material as well.  It's a sunny yellow color that just makes you happy looking at it.  Burning yellow I think is a bit too dark for my liking and I wouldn't want it covering a large area.  In a bra, I don't mind it at all.

So same as my other 2 Practice Freely tanks, I sized up to a size 6 in this one.  I tried on my normal size 4 in this tank before, and thought 6 fit better in the back.  4 was a little bit tight and didn't drape as well as the 6, so I went with 6.  This one fits exactly the same as my other 2.  I'm pretty happy with this!  Will wear it to a workout this weekend.  =)
