Bella Luxx Shirred Double Layer Tank

I just got this Bella Luxx Shirred Double Layer Tank in Cranberry from Gilt, and it's pretty cute!  I love this brand, and everything I have from them is made with some super soft and luxurious material lol.  This tank is no exception!  It's 100% modal and feels great.  Bella Luxx is made by the same people as Alo Yoga, which has become more and more popular as a workout/yoga/lifestyle brand.  They just opened their own store in Beverly Hills too which I've been meaning to check out!

This tank actually comes in red and black.  I am always getting black or dark colored items nowadays, so I decided to go for the red!  I got it in size S and the fit is exactly how I like!  It's 2 layers so the inner layer is fitted and the outer layer is looser.  Here it is on me:

And you don't have to squeeze your head through the little neck opening lol.  There are 2 snap buttons that can be undone while you are putting the top on:

The inner layer is exactly the same color as the outer:

From the side you can see the inner layer - I think it would be cute too if they had made it a contrasting color!

I'm happy with this tank because I can wear it with pants or shorts in the summer casually, or I can wear it under a suit jacket to work.  I love wearing short or sleeveless tops under jackets because it could get hot if I'm wearing long sleeves.  Plus it's more comfortable not having to deal with sleeves!

Super good deal for this top too!  Only $29 now instead of original retail of $86.  I highly recommend.  =)

Tahari ASL Marcelina Pencil Skirt

I used to own quite a few work skirts and dresses from Tahari ASL, but haven't bought any in a long time!  Well, I saw a super cute skirt on Gilt so I had to buy it.  It is the Marcelina Pencil Skirt, for $59.

I like the contrasting materials on this skirt, and I've always been a fan of the tweed look.  I got this skirt in size 2, which I thought was going to be a perfect fit.  However, it is on the tight side.  Maybe my butt is bigger now (from all my glute workouts!) than before when I used to buy a lot from this brand.  But I feel it is a bit too tight to be comfortable in.  On top of that, the material is thinner than I thought it would be.  So it does not hide any flaws lol.  When you walk around, it creates these creases in the front.  You know, like sometimes you sit for too long in a wrinkly material and the wrinkles stay after you stand up?  I am really not a fan of that look.

I do like the style a lot though!  So I ordered the size 4 as well and will compare both when it arrives, and return one.  I also prefer a larger size in the waist because I tuck blouses into my work skirts a lot.

Here you can tell that it's very figure hugging, I feel like every time I stand up, I'd have to pull it down and straighten out the creases.

And here's the material up close:

So, we'll see how the size 4 fits.  I hope one of them works!!

By the way, I also got Spanx for the first time just to see what the buzz is all about lol.  I got this Hide & Sleep Hi-Rise Panty, in nude, since Gilt has it for only $24.

I got this in size S.  Obviously not going to model this lol.  But I gotta say that I don't know what you would use this for??  Maybe I got the wrong style/size.  But it does nothing for me.  I thought it was going to be a lot tighter fitting in the waist, like corset style.  Maybe make the waist an inch smaller??  But it feels very stretchy on.  So it kind of feels like having nothing at all, and I don't really understand the point lol.  Oh well, not a big loss.  Maybe I'll try out another style from Spanx later!

Sea Bleu Cashmere Reese Sweater & Puma Mesh It Up Tank

My latest sweater, which I got for an awesome deal on Gilt, has proven to be the perfect item for the weather we are having lately!  It is Sea Bleu Cashmere Reese Open Knit Crewneck Sweater which is now on sale for only $50!  Well, two colors are $50 and two colors are $49 lol.  It's 100% cashmere and super soft!  I love the open knit designs and tend to get this style a lot, because regular weight sweaters are just too hot for LA!  Besides, I like that open knit sweaters can have totally different looks depending on what colored tank you wear underneath.

I got this sweater in blue, size XS.  But I actually got it in coral, size S first.  It turned out to be way pinker in person than the online photos, and the size S was huge.  So I exchanged it for the blue one in XS.  XS is actually still quite roomy.

The coral one looks like a very light and soft pink on their pictures, but it is more like a bubblegum pink in person, which I do not like.

The blue one in person is more true to the stock photo colors.  Just a tad darker.  Here it is on me:

I cannot even express how soft and comfy this sweater is on lol.  I immediately took the tag off and wore it after I received it.  $50 is a great deal for a cashmere sweater!  It comes in gray and yellow too.

I also ordered the Puma Mesh It Up Layer Tank from Gilt.

I ordered this tank in size XS, since my other Puma mesh tank that looks similar to this one is size S and HUGE!  But I wish I had this one in S!  the XS is not super tight, but I would like it looser and longer.  Argh!  Inconsistent sizing is the death of online shopping... for this brand at least!

The mesh in this tank is actually quite stretchy.  I love the subtle print design, but I just wish it was bigger!

This big logo on the hem is annoying - but easy to cut off:

Close up of the mesh design:

I couldn't exchange this one because the size S is sold out.  I was too lazy to return it, and since it's only like $22, return would have costed me $10 leaving me with almost nothing left anyway.  So I actually wore it already!  I do really like the mesh and how cool the material is.  It is great for spin class.

Muubaa Fornas Ombre Leather Biker Jacket - Christmas in Feb!

I finally managed to find myself a Christmas present from my bf!  I've decided a while ago that I should just pick out my own presents so that I get what I want, and he doesn't have to go through the dreaded experience of going shopping.  So far, it's worked out really well!  I think he'd much rather increase his price range to avoid the trouble anyway, and that works out for me too!  But apparently I'm a slacker too I didn't get anything until now.  Well, actually I did try to get a pair of boots from Nordstrom back in December but they canceled my order without telling me.  So this is my second try!  The package got lost for a couple days too!  I thought it wasn't meant to be, with my move and all going on at the same time.  But I got it now and it is a keeper!

I got the Muubaa Fornas Ombre leather biker jacket from Gilt.  I actually wanted to get this jacket a while ago, but I forgot about it until I saw it on Gilt.  So I decided to make it my present, since the price is pretty low now for a leather jacket ($280).  I think the dip dyed look on a leather jacket is so unique looking!  I don't think I've seen anyone with a jacket like this in person.  It's definitely different, but so far I've found that it's actually rather easy to wear.

I had to guess on what size to order, since I had never tried on Muubaa before.  It is a British brand, so the sizing is UK based.  I got it in UK size 6, which is equivalent to US size 2.  I was really crossing my fingers that it would fit, and I was happy to find that it does!

By the way, I moved to my new place!  So, different background now, though still a door lol.  I'm still trying to figure out where to put my mirror though.  The spot I have it now has a recess light on the ceiling above and it doesn't really work so well for pictures.  So it turns out that the bottom is way brighter than the top on every picture.  Oh well, I'll have to see what adjustments to make later.

The treatment on this jacket makes the leather appear worn.  I actually like this look better than the shiny/new look.

When the jacket is zipped, the chest area is slightly tight and pulls a little.  But I think it's ok because 1. I almost never zip my jackets (I do live in LA after all), and 2. I think leather will stretch so after a while it will probably fit better anyway.

Anyway, pretty happy with the jacket!  I was browsing the Muubaa website as well as the brand on Asos, and I'm liking a lot of the jackets!  Although most of the jackets are very similar in style to this jacket.  But I'm a fan of the biker style, so no surprise there.  Maybe I'll get another one later!
