Sunday Funday!

Happy Sunday everyone!  My mom was in town this weekend, so things were a little hectic for me.  She brought me my birthday present, which is this little robotic vacuum lol.  I have no idea why she did that because I have a nice Dyson vacuum (which I probably don't use as often as I should).  It's kinda fun to watch this little robot running around.  It even knows to return to its charging station after it's done!  How cute.

This week was a bit different for me.  I had to be at work around 6 am, so I couldn't make it to the gym beforehand since my gym only opens at 5.  I usually get to the gym before 5:15 am and I can barely make it out of there by 7 am (that's when I'm supposed to be at work lol).  I hadn't been to the gym after work in the longest time, and I was reminded of why I hated it!  There are some real annoying guys there that I hadn't seen and had totally forgotten about for months.  Like dude #1 is super awkward and tries to talk to me every time he sees me... but just stands there in silence after "hi".  I feel kind of bad for him, but omg go away if you have nothing to say lol!  Dude #2 is kind of similar but way worse... he does nothing but walking in front of wherever I am while trying to make eye contact, and sometimes he even steals my bench with my sweaty towel on it when I happen to walk away for a minute.  Seriously, he's gross.  Dude #3 wants to workout with me... when he is not there with his girlfriend.  He stalks me on Instagram too.  Then there are random other ones who like to tell me what's going on in their lives even though I don't even know them, or asking me things about my life that I have no interest in sharing.  Of course, there are also lots of co-workers that go to the same gym after work, who I really would rather not see or be seen by.  So, one week of going to the gym after work has completely reminded me of why it's worth it to get up at 4 am for the gym.  The people who are always there in mornings are a lot less... sociable (or socially-challenged?).

Aside from the hiccup in my schedule, my workouts this week were also quite different from normal.  I had bought some pilates classes which are expiring soon, so I took 2 pilates classes this week.  I also had a training session with one of my gym trainers who I am thinking of training with a couple times a month.  I like his style of high intensity circuit work.  It's so different to have someone else there pushing you as well!

Oh yeah, also no "to and from"s this week since I went to the gym after work - it's been almost 90 degrees everyday here.  The only time that I sort of need a "to and from" piece is when I leave the house at 4:30 am.

Monday 8/4
What I did:  Lower body weights, followed by 30 minutes of cardio intervals on the gauntlet.

What I wore:  Lululemon 105 F Singlet in bruised berry with Lorna Jane Portia bra in hyper lime under.  Athleta Chaturanga capri in purple plaid, and Nike Free Bionics in purple/volt.

This was super matchy!  The LJ bra and Nike shoe laces are identical in color...

Tuesday 8/5
What I did:  Pilates class - it was such a tough one too!  Worked on my glutes a lot.

What I wore:  Lorna Jane Feline tank in viola (I think this is my favorite tank I've bought in a long time) with Lorna Jane Somersault bra under it.  Lululemon Wunder Groove crops and I wore my printed Nike Free 3.0s to class.

Wednesday 8/6
What I did:  Glute/Back/Bi workout.

Straps of the bra is the same shade as the tank too.  =)

Thursday 8/7 - Rest

Friday 8/8
What I did:  Training session with the trainer.  We did 4 sets of high intensity circuit work.  Then I threw in another 30 minutes of cardio afterwards.

Saturday 8/9 - Rest day, had to pick up mom in the morning.

Sunday 8/10
What I did:  Pilates class again.

Wow these posts are so short when I don't have any to and from outfits!  And work outfits for that matter too.  But anyway... I hope you all had a great weekend, and a great week to come!

Vince Leather Scuba Jacket in Black!

I got a second Vince leather jacket!  I love the first one I got in charcoal (though really looks olive in person) so much that I decided I NEEDED it in black!  I didn't really want to shell out the $995 + tax price tag for it though, so I kept an watchful eye on ebay.  They get listed there once in a while, and normally sell for around 1/3 - 1/2 of retail new with tag.  So I finally got one!  It's not the paper leather version like my charcoal one.  It's thicker and a little more substantial.  The leather has a bit more sheen, but still on the matte side.  Otherwise the design is the same though.  This is the one I got.  I love it!

Yes, I do realize all my jackets are basically the same style - kind of cropped, fitted moto style with the side zipper thing going on.  What can I say... I just love it I guess!  The Vince jacket is kind of like the leather version of my new favorite Caslon cardigans.  :)

The jacket I got on ebay had a slight tear at the end of the zipper pull though, which I of course knew when I bid on it.  After I received it, I took it to Nordstrom to see if they could get it fixed, and they did... for only $10!  They didn't ask for receipt or any kind of proof that it was purchased there.  I happily paid the $10 and have no complaints.  They glued the leather as well as put some reinforcement stitchings on top.  It is the little "X" next to the zipper pull.  You can barely see it in person:

I actually tried this exact jacket on at Nordstrom before I got it.  So I knew what size to get!  It's the same as my other one - XS.  I tried S too, which is way too loose for this style and looks frumpy on me.  This is obviously a shorter jacket and not really meant to be worn in super cold weather.

Here it is on me:

I like how this leather is thicker so there's more structure to it.  I can actually pop the collar and it would stay up haha.

The pockets are pretty big on this jacket too.

Ribbed side panels which cover the under side of the sleeves too:

I would never wear it like this, but this is what it looks like completely zipped up:

So happy I have now acquired this jacket!  I wish it wasn't 90 degrees here so I can wear it now lol!

Two More Caslon Cardigans!

So after getting the black Caslon Drape Neck Zip Cardigan from the anniversary sale, I fell so in love with it that I wear it all the time now!  I am so glad that I ordered two more colors right away with the anniversary sale price.  It is now back up to $68 but I still think that's a damn good price for it.  I got a medium heather grey color and a tan color called morel.

Same as the black one, I got these two in size XS.  I think the grey one might fit a tiny bit looser, but otherwise they are identical.  I love all of them.  I still think I would wear the black one the most, only because it's black.  But it's good to have options.  They are so comfy and I can seriously wear them anywhere and with anything!

Here they are on me...

Half zipped:

And here's the morel one:

I realized that I actually never posted a picture of what it looks like completely zipped to the top, but it kind of creates a cowl neck when worn that way.  It's not bad at all for a different look.

I seriously think this cardigan is my best purchase in a long time.  Three for $135!  =D

Sunday Funday!

Hello everyone!  First of all, thank you so much for the birthday wishes!  I had such a great day/weekend!  I actually took a mini-weekend trip down to Orange County and hung out for a couple days.  I did a lot of laying out at the hotel pool yesterday!  In fact, I got a little sunburnt!  But only on half of my body lol.  It was an overcast day and after an hour or so we put the umbrella over our lounge chairs.  Since it was rather cloudy, I couldn't tell that apparently only half of my body was covered by the umbrella.  =/  So now I am half pink!  Sigh... it's not too bad though, so I hope it will just go away in a couple days.

Last night I actually ended up going to the OC Fair!  It was my first time there, and I couldn't believe how huge it was and how many people there were!  I was proud of myself for not eating a gazillion fried things though haha.  The only really bad thing I indulged in was this fried Snickers bar... but there were 4 of us and we shared it so I really only had 2 little bites.  I was mainly curious how it would taste, and I have to say it was really not that great.  =P

This is the inside... I didn't really taste the Snickers bar.  It kind of just tasted like melted chocolate inside of some fried dough haha.  Good thing I didn't waste too many calories on this.

On a side note, my mini birthday cakes that my boyfriend bought me were amazing though!  These were totally worth the splurge, and I DID splurge on them!  Ate them all in one sitting (with help) lol.  I love Asian desserts... they are not too sweet and very pretty!  Only a couple bucks a piece too lol.

Ok, back to the OC Fair... I had a lot of fun, and my favorite was the pig race!  They are SO cute!!  I now want a pet pig lol.  Here's the video I took.  They ran much faster than I anticipated, and they even jumped over hurdles!!

Anyways... next week I gotta work hard to undo the caloric damage done this weekend lol.  It's ok, one of the main reason I workout so much is so that I can eat.  I love eating!  =P

Because of my limited time last week, I only got in 4 workouts and only 1 cardio session.  But I did alter my 4th workout so that it had elements from both my 4th and 5th workouts.  My weight sessions are generally pretty tough and my heart rate goes up a lot.  Not to mention I sweat nonstop.  So I don't feel too terrible about missing a couple cardio sessions either.

Monday 7/28 - Rest day since I worked out 6 days last week nonstop from Tuesday - Sunday.  But I took pictures of my work outfit!  I am always happy to sneak in really comfy clothes into my work wardrobe.  I think Splendid is a great brand for that.  I wore my Splendid button down shirt with Express high waist pieced pencil skirt and Vince Camuto Dacoma pumps.  I think it looked pretty professional even though it felt like wearing pajamas lol.

Tuesday 7/29
What I did:  Lower body weight training.

What I wore:  Splits59 Tone Racerback in rose, with Lorna Jane Quick Step bra under.  Lululemon Wunder Under crop in black camo, and Nike Free 5.0 TR Fit 4 shoes in fusion pink/atomic mango.

My newest obsession - Caslon Drape Neck Zip Cardigan as to and from:

Wednesday 7/30
What I did:  Shoulder/tri weights.  I slept in in the morning so I actually went to the gym after work for the first time in ages.  I was supposed to do cardio after weights but I forgot to bring socks to the gym...?!?  Such an amateur move!  I can't do cardio without socks.  It was bad enough to wear my shoes bare foot while doing weights.

I thought I'd also share my work outfit from the same day because it was pretty comfy too... hehe.  I wore the Esley sheer sleeve blazer of the cheapo H&M print tank which is actually really awesome.  Express tweed corset pencil skirt, and Coach Nala patent pumps.

Thursday 7/31
What I did:  Glute/Back/Bi workout.

What I wore:  Alo Sport Zen Layer Back tank with Lorna Jane Kira bra under.  Lululemon Inspire crop in savasana camo fatigue green, and Nike Free 5.0 TR Fit 4 shoes in fusion pink/atomic mango.

Lorna Jane Willow mesh LS as to and from:

So on Thursday night, my boyfriend took me out for pre-birthday dinner at one of LA's newest and hottest spots called Faith & Flower.  I had been wanting to go there forever!  Literally since before it opened lol.  They had some very interesting things on the menu, and creative drinks!  I decided to go a bit demure so I wore my Express Metallic Herrington tank with 7 For All Mankind burgandy snake print skinny jeans (both items had their tags on still lol) and Sam Edelman Novato pumps.  And of course my Caslon cardigan again!  I've been wearing this thing nonstop haha.

The details of the top does not show well in the photo above, so here's a close up:

Friday 8/1
What I did:  I took the day off work because it's lame to work on your birthday.  I did my lower body workout combined with my upper body superset workout.  Then I did my one and only cardio session of the week, which was 30 minutes on the gauntlet.

Subtle animal print on both top and bottom.. hehe...

I did end up wearing my new dress - the Gold Hawk embellished floral dress to my birthday dinner.  But I didn't take a picture of it because we were running late due to really terrible traffic from LA to OC on Friday evening.  Oh well, it looks the same as the picture on the post lol:

Anyways, it's late and I have to unpack still!  Have a good night everyone!
