One of the perks of living in Los Angeles is being able to go to all these sample sales. It really seems like every brand has sample sales in LA. I don't go to nearly enough, though I went to 2 this weekend - Splits59 and Alo Sport again. I should have tried to go to the Rebecca Minkoff and Adidas ones, but oh well. Why do they all have to have them at the same time? I got so much stuff though, for literally pennies! I think I need to do a major purge soon because I'm dangerously low on closet room.
By the way, I would have posted about the Splits59 sample sale for my LA area readers had I known that it wasn't announced publicly! I don't know how I got invited to it, because I just got an email from them saying it was the friends and family sale for special local guests. I figured they sent it to every customer who has ordered them from the LA area. But apparently not.. I don't think it's a blog related thing either, since I use a different email address to shop than my blog email, and Splits59 only follows me on Instagram which does not have my real name and I don't even use it very often lol. Sooo... sorry guys!! Not to rub it in, but it was a great sale, I got lots of items for $5 (even a jacket!!). Here's the picture of my scores I posted on Instagram... I love all of them! Will post details of what I bought later. Their bags are actually pretty cute too:
Anyways, I turned in my new stuff to my trainer and had to admit that I failed on my food part during Thanksgiving weekend. I think that's why I got a brutal new workout plan! He has now incorporated supersets of strength and plyo combo, which is actually very effective because it gets my heart rate up like no other. He also added stadium stairs workout, which I did today. It's been a long time since I last did a stairs workout (not that I used to do it a lot). Damn those little stairs, why are they so hard?? I started checking how much time I had left when I felt like I had been going at it for 10 minutes, but it was only 2!
What I did: I did my shoulder/tri workout, which is typically my Tuesday workout. Because I had worked out my lower legs on Sunday right after I got back in town, and I definitely didn't want to do lower body two days in a row. 30 minute cardio interval session afterwards.
What I wore: Under Armour Achieve tank in high vis yellow, with Lululemon Free To Be bra in power purple under it. Power purple Track Time crop, and Nike Free Bionics in purple! It was way too matchy matchy probably, but I couldn't resist lol. The tank is the exact same shade as the shoe laces!!
As to and from, I wore the heathered lolo purple Lululemon Inspire pullover:
What I did: So I did my lower body workout on Tuesday, followed by 30 minutes of cardio session.
What I wore: Lole GuEll tank in banana square, with CW-X Pro 3/4 tight and Reebok Crossfit Forging Elite shoes.
As to and from, since nobody wants to buy my Lululemon Swiftly LS in mellow lemon, I've decided to keep it lol. I now need it to go with these shoes!
What I did: Back and bi weights, followed by the 3rd cardio session of the week!
What I wore: My new Reebok Sheer Yoga tank with Lululemon Centered Energy bra in flash under, Lorna Jane Devoted 7/8 Tight, and Adidas adizero adios 2 shoes - been a while since I've worn these shoes!
And the Splits59 Olivia Run Tee in Barberry as to and from:
Here is my "yay it's finally cold!" work outfit from Wednesday - Express ruched sweater dress in royal purple! Ash Orchid boot.
I also broke out my winter coat - this old Express military style jacket.
Thursday 12/5 - Rest day
What I did: Lower body workout, this was the one I did plyo and strength supersets. i.e. squats and jump squat supersets, or step-ups and side jumps supersets. It fatigues you so fast. I did my last cardio session of the week afterwards too. No wonder I was so tired yesterday!
What I wore: Lorna Jane Analisa tank in teneriffe blue and Lorna Jane Marvel 3/4 tight, with Reebok crossfit shoes again. I like these shoes for jumping around and stuff like that. Glad I got them before I started this workout in my program.
As to and from, I wore the Roxy Daybreak LS tee. It seems I'm always wearing this tee nowadays. I love it!
What I did: Upper body supersets. No cardio after so it was a quick workout.
What I wore: Splits59 Ashby tank in yucca, with Lululemon Free to Be bra in very green under, and Beyond Yoga Essential Gather Long Legging in heathered grey, and Nike Free bionics in black.
Saturday was really really cold, like 55 degrees! Buuurrrr! Lol. I thought I needed to wear my long sleeve swiftly inside of the gym. But they actually turned on the heat. So I wore my Lululemon swiftly LS in fresh teal/very green over the Splits59 tank for like 1 workout, and that was it, it had to come off. But how cool is it that Lululemon's fresh teal is exactly the same as Splits59's yucca? Hehe.
I also wore my Lululemon Don't Hurry Be Happy pullover in polar cream as to and from. I love this pullover for cold days like this!
What I did: So today I did my 20 minutes of stadium stairs workout. I was going to go use these huge stairs right behind my gym. But I felt lazy and it was cold out, so I decided to just do it in the stair case in my building. It actually worked out pretty well. I ran up and down, jumped, jumped 2 steps at a time, ran up side ways, etc. Pretty much non-stop for 20 minutes. It was tough but kinda fun!
What I wore: Lululemon swiftly racerback in heathered plum, with Lorna Jane Quietly Confident bra under, and Lululemon Inspire crops in inkwell/mellow lemon/burning yellow which I hemmed like 4 inches off of. Reebok shoes again.
That's all for this week! I am going to make some dinner and watch a movie before heading to bed (hopefully early) tonight. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!
