I'm in Seattle right now for the long weekend. Tomorrow is Veterans Day so I get it off work. I flew in super early yesterday morning and will be flying out at like 7 pm tomorrow. So it's a 3 day trip which is not bad at all. The flight is only 2.5 hours. It's actually not raining here for the entire 3 days I'm here! That is pretty lucky for November I guess. Great, as I don't own an umbrella lol. It's also not nearly as cold as I thought it would be. I brought my new Sorel Joan of Arc boots but feel a little silly wearing them around. The Lululemon Outward Bound jacket I brought is perfect though! I'm kind of tired of the eternal summer in SoCal, so it is nice to get away to a mild winter for a couple days. :)
I'm staying at the W Hotel which is pretty close to everything so I've been walking everywhere. Did you see the picture I posted yesterday of me drinking a Starbucks Pike Place Roast at the very first Starbucks location at Pike Place Market?? So cool lol. Here it is again...
The line wasn't horribly long and moved fast. There's no pastries at this location, just coffee and some souvenir mugs. I got one!
Here's what it looks like at the entrance:
The menu is the same as other locations:
And here's my cup of coffee! Lol ok maybe I am overly excited about this whole thing...
Other than that, I've been just having lots of good coffee and seafood! I love it. I really like how low key Seattle is. It's not nearly as pretentious as LA which is nice. There is not a whole lot to do so it's very chill. This is exactly what I needed! A nice relaxing weekend where I don't feel like I have to be on the go the whole time or miss out on things.
By the way, I bring lots of snacks and all my supplements with me when I travel. I just figured out that this green tea mint container from Trader Joes serves as a really great pill container after you finish the mints off. Lol. See all my pills fit inside!
I did so well on my food intake the past couple weeks. I just feel great, both physically and mentally. I used to get bloaty so easily, but no more! Not even during the dreaded time of the month! I can literally feel that my body is more tuned in and it's just slowly letting go of all the unnecessary water it's been holding onto. I saw about a pound drop on the scale this week, which is a lot at this point for me. I'm eating the same calories and macros, I just haven't been sneaking in bites of chocolate or whatever else here and there lol. Eating clean definitely takes dedication and mental power, but the end result is amazing. I think the more junk you eat, the more you crave for them. Once you stop eating them, it takes a few days of withdrawal, then you just don't really feel like having them at all anymore. Gotta push through those hard times! :)
Anyway, it is now November and we were still having 80 degree weather in LA all week. I know this may sound crazy to some of you, but I really do wish the weather would be cooler. Primarily because I'm tired of eternal summer lol. That's why I needed my rainy/cold escape for a couple days. It makes me appreciate my climate more! But I need it to cool down enough so that I can wear all my cool weather gear! At least after Daylight Savings last weekend, it is now completely dark by the time I get done at the gym every evening. So I get to wear my "to and from". Yay!
Monday 11/4
What I did: Lower body weights, so happy now that trainer took away the big circuit leg workout on Mondays. I celebrated by using extra weights lol. My usual 30 minute cardio interval on 15% incline treadmill afterwards. It was strange, but my calves got super sore at the end of the day on Tuesday. I don't know what it was from, but I think it was from the Smith machine lunges.
What I wore: Lorna Jane Replay Excel tank with Lululemon Free to Be bra in power purple under it. Paired with Lululemon Track Time crop in power purple as well, and my purple Nike Free Bionics! I like this kind of matchy-ness.
As to and from, I put on my Lululemon Swiftly LS in fresh teal/very green:
Tuesday 11/5
What I did: Upper body weights, shoulder & tri. Cardio after.
What I wore: Guess what?! I got my inkwell/burning yellow Inspire crops hemmed to knee length! I haven't worn these much because even though I love inkwell, the burning yellow portion on the calves really made it hard to match with tops. So I decided I'd like them better if they were solid inkwell. And... now they are. :) Since I had to do iron-on repair work on the crotch of these crops, their re-sell value is out the window anyway so I thought I'd take a chance, and I really like the end result! I didn't take them to get hemmed at Lulu since I figured they wouldn't do it (because it changes the design of the item). I didn't bother asking though. It was only 10 bucks at my dry cleaners. They did a flat seam hem so it looks just like it was meant to be! Check them out...
So I wore them, along with my No Limit tank in caspian blue, and Nike Frees in violet.
I wore the plum Nice Asana jacket as to and from... get it while it's on sale for a great price!! I love this jacket.
Oh yes, my work outfit from Tuesday - Express Portofino shirt in ivory with black piping, with the Express high waist pieced pencil skirt and Sam Edelman Mallory slingbacks.
Wednesday 11/6
What I did: Back and bi weights. It took forever so I skipped cardio.
What I wore: Lorna Jane Inspire tank with Lululemon Free To Be bra in faded zap under it. And Lululemon Ebb & Flow crops in black, with Nike Free Bionics in purple again. Faded zap is not quite as bright as the shoe laces, but good enough! I'm finding a lot of outfits that go with these shoes so I'm glad I kept them. :)
As to and from, I wore the Roxy Daybreak LS tee. I love that you can still see the back of my tank under! I seriously love everything about this Roxy top, and not because I got it for free.
Thursday 11/7
What I did: Lower body again. Technically it was supposed to be my rest day. And I kind of felt like I needed it because my legs were STILL sore from Monday! But then I went anyways and it wasn't bad. So I pushed on. Then did cardio afterwards too.
What I wore: Lululemon Swiftly racerback in pink mist, with this seamless Coobi bra I got at the Equinox Shop. It's technically not a sports bra lol But it's super comfy and has convertible straps, and only 20 bucks with 10% proceeds going to Breast Cancer research (only this pink color). It's not like I need a lot of support so it works for me! I wore my Lorna Jane Devoted 7/8 tight and New Balance Minimus Road shoes.
I put on the Swiftly LS in fruity tootie after:
Here's a very old dress I wore to work lol... I bought this dress from Express like 7 years ago or something. I still wear it and love it! It is a cotton wrap dress. Very simple but amazing to have. I wore it with my green suede Gucci wedges I bought equally long ago, maybe even longer...
Sunday 11/10
What I did: I did upper body supersets at the hotel gym! The gym at the W is actually pretty big for hotel gym standards. I was able to do everything without a lot of modifications. I even did my 30 min cardio after weights.
What I wore: My very first Lululemon cool racerback ever... Majestic. With pow pink Free to Be bra under, Wunder Grooves, and Brooks Pure Drift shoes. Here I am!
Anyway! That's all for this week. I am going to go down to the hotel bar and have some happy hour snacks. Tomorrow I am having brunch at the top of the Space Needle! So fun lol. It's supposed to be kind of sunny too so the view should be nice.
Hope you all are having a great weekend!
Thank you for your inspiring words. I'm having a real hard time cutting out the junk but I will give it all I got and tomorrow will day 1 for me. For real this time.
ReplyDeleteThanks and I love your blog!
Awww that's awesome! Like I said, first couple days are hardest but it gets easier! You'll do great! We all fall off the wagon sometimes, you just have to get back on track! No biggie. :)
DeleteWow, that hotel gym is great. The last hotel gym I was at had 1 treadmill, 1 elliptical, and 1 stationary bike. No weights at all.
ReplyDeleteYeah, this one has 4 treadmills, 3 elliptical machines, 1 bike, whole weight circuit machines, 2 sets of free weight racks and even 2 stretching machines and a few yoga mats and exercise balls. Not bad at all. And 2 water stations, a bunch of apples, towels and Bliss facial towels lol. I think I'll go back tomorrow... Though I only brought one workout outfit...
DeleteI love your style! If you don't mind, i would like to ask advice. I recently hit the 22+8 birthday, and I don't have to classy up my work clothes as I work at a university, but I want to. Do you ever wear your lululemon to work? I find I want to wear crbs and skinny wills, and tanks like the free to be as work camis. I'm not sure if this *is* an upgrade from jeans and t-shirt (over a ls swiftly if it's cold). I ordered the plum nice asana, and I think it would wear it too (so excited for it!). If also found I'm a bit ... Uncomfortable in old work clothes as I had a baby, and they don't fit well - where as the gym stuff kinda does. Do you put a hard line between your work clothes and casual/work out?
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
Hehe I like your 22+8 bday! Happy belated! I just turned the same age myself a couple months ago. :) I don't think there's a hard line between gym and work clothes at all. I work in a more conservative environment, but I've worn my cool racerbacks under blazers or cardigans to work. So I think that totally works! I always wear pants or skirts with heels though, so I don't wear workout pants to work. One of my coworkers does, but she wears Nike ones which actually look like regular slacks people wear to work! Since your work is more casual, I would think Lulu groove pants or skinny wills would work very well. You can probably even wear wunder unders with boots over right? I do that sometimes on weekends when I don't feel like wearing jeans. My workout clothes are way more comfy and I want to wear them all the time. :)
DeletePerfect! Thank you so much :)
DeleteI forgot to add I hope you have a good trio!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute picture of you in Seattle, thanks for sharing your face too this time :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
DeleteI have to agree with Anonymous above- you look pretty darn cute in Seattle! And you're a trooper to keep up your posting schedule while traveling! Can't wait to hear the rest of your trip details. :)
