Lululemon What'SUP Hat

Since I like and wear my Play The Field cap so much, I decided to get another Lululemon hat!  I need one that fits a larger head and lots of hair, and the reviews seemed to indicate that the What'SUP Hat would work out.  I actually tried it on in the store just to make sure, since hats are final sale.  The store didn't have the color I wanted anyway, which was the star crushed black cherry.

I like the dark purple color, since it would go with a lot of things.  I really like this hat!  It definitely fits my big head, with room to spare!  I actually wore it to the gym for a workout already, and it was even better than I thought.  Sometimes after wearing caps for a while, I feel some sort of headache from the tightness.  But this hat didn't do that at all, which I suspect is because the back half is all mesh and it is a rather flexible material.  So it doesn't dig into your head.  Also, since the sides are mesh, it kept my head cool.

I think I might need to get more of these hats in different colors!  I'm liking the blue one in the same print as well.  The only thing about wearing it to workout in is that it gets sweat on it, and I don't really know how to wash it.  Do you just soak it?  I don't want it to lose its shape in the washer.  Maybe I need to get one of those cap shaper things for the washing machine?  Need to figure this out.  Anybody have any experience with this?

Fitness Tanks from Etsy!

I ordered some custom fitness tanks from Etsy, because I don't have enough workout tanks lol.  Well, I actually don't really wear tanks with graphics or writing on them.  I don't dislike them per se, but I normally don't like anything enough to want to have them on my shirts.  The ones I got caught my eye though, especially this one because it's so true!

The store I ordered from is called TheFitnessTeeCo, and this is the link for this 0 People Like Burpees tank.  All the tanks are made to order.  You choose your own tank and ink colors.  It's only $18!

I actually like the black tank with pink ink, as pictured in their sample photo.  But I mixed up the option for tank color and the option for ink color on the order page.  So I ended up getting a pink tank with black writing!  No Likie!!  Good thing they exchanged it out for me for only $4 more or something because I would not have had use for the pink tank (it's kind of a dull pink, in my opinion).  This is what I should have done, if I wanted a black tank with pink ink:

I don't know about you, but I find this a little confusing.  In my defense, the way I saw it was that the first option has the size, then ends with the word "Tank".  So I assumed it meant the tank size and color.  Apparently it refers to the tank size and the ink color.  Whatever.  It's just confusing to name it "ink tank".  Is that the ink or the tank?!  If I had scrolled through all the pictures though, I would have seen that the last picture shows the different tank colors.  So I could have figured out that the tank color was on the second drop down.  But, I didn't.  What can I say.  I was slightly annoyed by this.

So anyway, to keep it simple, I actually just exchanged for a heather white tank with black ink.  Though after I put in my exchange, I realized I should have done blue tank with white ink!  That would be just like the facebook colors!  Oh well......... maybe that means I need another one.  =P

So I went with size S, and it is the loose fit that I like.  The tank is Next Level Apparel brand Tri Blend racerback, which is made of a blend of polyester, cotton and rayon.  I think a lot of people make custom shirts with this Next Level brand.  The material feels pretty nice and soft actually.  The length is also on the long side, as you can see on me.  I read the reviews that a lot of people thought it ran small though.  I don't think that's the case, personally.  But I can kind of see why people would say that - the material is not as stretchy as some other workout tank materials.  I'm happy with my size S.

I also got the Kettlebell Skull tank from the same seller, since I use kettlebells so much!

I meant to get it in white tank with black ink but since I ordered both tanks at the same time, it got reversed too.  So I ended up getting a black tank with white ink.  I figured... whatever, just keep it.  I really have no issues with this color combo.  Got the tank in the same size.

A lot of reviews for this seller said that they shipped super fast.  I actually didn't find that to be the case the first round.  It took them a week to put it in the mail, and another week to arrive (they ship first class mail from Michigan).  I didn't really care, but if you are in a hurry then two weeks is a bit slow.  I understand they have to make the tanks after receiving each order, but I didn't think that should take an entire week.  When I exchanged the Burpee tank, they shipped out the replacement within 2 or 3 days of ordering though.  So maybe it just depends.  And if you live closer to Michigan, I'm sure you'd get it faster too.

Lastly, I got a Happy Place tank from another seller called everfitte (link is for the size S... you'll have to do a search in their store for this tank in different sizes).  It's on super sale for only $10!  The saying is so true for me too!  Lol.  Though instead of Starbucks, nowadays I just go to 3rd wave hipster coffee places and get things like bulletproof coffee.  I've been hooked on it for quite a while now.   Coffee + Grass Fed Butter + Coconut Oil = Winning Combo.  Who would have thought?!

But, I still like Starbucks as a company.  So I'll represent them lol.  This tank is American Apparel, and I got it in size S too.  It is shorter than the Next Level tanks, and maybe slightly tighter.  I think I could have done size M in it as well.  But I'm happy with it the way it is!

This seller is located in Northern California so I got the tank like the day after they shipped.  It took them a week to send it out though, and I don't think it's a made to order tank since you can't choose different colors.  But, no biggie!

So, I didn't mean for this to turn into such a long post!  Lol.  I've had my Etsy account for like 5 years now but these were my very first purchases from Etsy.  I think they worked out pretty well!  I will have to see how these tanks perform and how well they hold up.

Vince Boucle Scuba Jacket with Leather Sleeves

I posted last week about my newest purchase - the Vince Knit Scuba jacket from their friends & family sale that I got for a great price!  The day after I ordered it, I made another order for the Boucle Scuba Jacket with leather sleeves.  It arrived just as fast as the Knit Scuba jacket, which was less than 2 days after I made my order!  I am so glad I got it, because based on the picture on the Vince website, I was not interested at all:

The jacket just looks so boxy on the model above.  But I saw the same jacket on Bluefly and it looks like a completely different jacket!  This jacket is on sale at Bluefly for $320, but the Bluefly price was almost $100 more than the vince.com price, especially with the 25% off from friends & family sale.  So I felt like I had to buy it, even though it was final sale.

I got this jacket in size XS too, which is the same size as all my other Vince jackets.  I feel that this one fits a little bit looser in the body.  Though I'm not sure if it's enough to size down.  It's already a short jacket, sizing down may make it way too short.

I love the black leather trim details on the gray jacket.  The color is called heathered medium gray, by the way.  As you can see, most of the jacket is made of the tweed material, which I love.  It's not too thick or too thin.  It's definitely not a heavy winter jacket by any means.  But I think you shouldn't expect it to be, once you see the pictures.

The leather sleeves have ribbing on the bottom of each sleeve.  The leather itself is actually shiny.  Interesting, I expected it to be matte.

Since the tweed material is not as stiff as leather or the knit Scuba material, there are snap buttons around the collars to make it stay in place.

Otherwise the collar area would probably cumble.

The two side pockets are sewn shut, but they are real pockets so if you cut away the stitching you can use them.

Same as the Knit Scuba, the zipper pull is matte black too:

Again, this jacket can be worn unzipped or zipped.  I would opt for unzipped at least half of the time though.  But here it is zipped up:

So, the price of this jacket was so good with the Vince sale.  It is now back up to $278.  It's still a big discount from the original price of $695 though.  Neiman Marcus has it for only $182, actually, which is a steal!  But it's sold out in all sizes but M and L.  Bloomingdales has size S, but it is at a way higher price of $365.  Who knows, maybe they'll price match though!  I find that Vince jackets are always made with nice quality and craftsmanship.  It's totally worth splurging a little!  A nice jacket can always dress up an outfit instantly, which is a great investment piece!

Sunday Funday!

I seemed to have recovered from whatever bug I caught last week, and completed week 1 of my Get Glutes month 7 workouts!  I was happy to have been able to wear some of the new workout clothes I got and hadn't had a chance to wear... I wear having new workout clothes is a motivating factor to go to the gym... haha!  My new workouts didn't look too hard when I reviewed them, but they were actually kind of tough to complete!  Plus, I had worked out on Sunday last week after taking off almost the whole week, so I spent the beginning of this week recovering from soreness.  It always amazes me how sore I still get nowadays even if I only take a few days off...

I finished doing my tax return though!  Hahaha... I only waited till 4/15... such a pain.

Monday 4/13 - Rest day

Tuesday 4/14
What I did:  Strength #1

What I wore:  Titika Born tank with Titika Inferno bra under.  Lululemon wunder under crop in animal swirl, and Nike Free 5.0 TR Fit 4 shoes in ash.

As expected, the back strap of this bra kept falling down during my workout.  It was annoying but didn't really affect my workout, since the top strap doesn't really have any holding function.

Splits59 Vail cutout pullover in barberry/apricot as to and from:

Wednesday 4/15
What I did:  Strength #2

What I wore:  Lululemon If You're Lucky tank with Lululemon Free To Be Wild bra in silver fox deep navy under.  Splits59 Nova capri tight and same Nike shoes again.

I like that the mesh in the Lululemon tank goes with the mesh in the Splits59 crops!

I also really like this tank over this bra for some reason, even though I didn't think they would really go in the beginning:

Roxy Daybreak LS as to and from:

Thursday 4/16 - Rest day

Friday 4/17
What I did:  Strength #3

What I wore:  Lululemon Water Bound singlet in bruised berry with Lululemon Centered Energy bra in flash under.  Lululemon High Times pant in cyber strip silver fox (first time wearing them!) and Nike Free 3.0 in gray/crimson.

The bra color actually shows through the tank quite well!

So, Nike's "crimson" is a pretty close color match to the zipper on the High Times pant!  Actually the gray part of the shoe matches the silver fox stripes too lol:

For work on the same day, I continued the same color scheme!  Express Slub Knit pocket shirt with Catherine Malandrino Collet skirt and Ella Moss Evelyn pump.

Saturday 4/18
What I did:  Strength #4

What I wore:  Lululemon Yogi Cutoff Tee in heathered white with Lululemon Free to Be bra in very green under.  Lululemon Live Natural ombre crop, and Nike Free 5.0 TR Fit 4 shoes in venom/turbo green.

Zobha Biker jacket in moss as to and from:

And today I rested again.  I pushed pretty hard this week, and I've been quite sore all week!  Will probably take tomorrow off again, and then back to the grind.  =)  Have a good night everyone!
