Cute Workout Tanks from Zella!

I ordered some stuff from Nordstrom's Zella brand last week after seeing facebook ads (I'm totally one of those suckers that clicks on facebook ads).  I had heard of Zella but never really looked into it or tried on anything from them before.  But after seeing this cute baby doll style tank on the facebook ad, I was hooked.  It's actually reminiscent of some Lululemon tanks, and they all come with built in shelf bra with cup inserts, like Lulu!  To be honest, that is the only reason I started buying Lululemon years ago.  Nordstrom offers free shipping and free returns, so I decided to order some and see for myself.  I read the reviews which all said to size up from your normal size so I ordered size M for the tanks.  Wrong!  Whoever these people are, they've been shopping only at vanity sizing stores.  Everything I got was too big.  So I'm going to exchange them, but they are still very cute.

So this is the tank I saw on the facebook ad, the Stripe Pointelle Babydoll tank.  It comes in this "aqua tint" which is very very similar to Lululemon's aquamarine.  And also white.  I ordered the white one, since I already have the aquamarine Lululemon Dance Strap tank which is somewhat similar babydoll style.  Although I also have a white Dance Strap tank, I guess I forgot when I ordered it.

The only back picture they have of this tank online is in aqua tint.  I love how the back looks:

This tank in size M is definitely too big for me.  The chest is loose and not supportive at all, though somehow it makes your boobs look bigger and waist look smaller.  That's a good thing of course.  The body in size M is very bellowy so I'm hoping size S would be a little better.  You may not be able to tell in this picture though.  Here's what it looks like:

The bottom is very much like my Dance Strap tank, and it has a never-ending cinch cord as well.  The material feels kind of like Lululemon's silverescent run tanks, like in the Tame Me tank.  Up close, the fabric actually has black stripes, though subtle.

The inner bra is mesh as well, but a bit stiffer than Lululemon's mesh bras.  However, this tank is made very well and it's cheaper than Lulu ($48).  So it's definitely a good buy.  I might actually return it and get the aqua tint one in size S instead.

I also got the Strappy Babydoll Tank in pink floral:

This tank is actually a little bit smaller fit than the Stripe Pointelle, and I could probably get away with the size M.  The cord on the bottom of the tank is not the kind that loops around.  You actually have to tie it.

Here's a crappy back picture I attempted to take, it was the best I could do!

I love the back of this tank.  The print is fun and different from anything I have too.  The material is more like Lulu's luxtreme, so it's more of a silky/buttery feel.

I took a picture of the inner bra, not sure if you are able to see clearly enough:

So the bra insert goes from the outside of the cup just like Lululemon tanks too.  I love that the cups are already in there when I received these tanks though, unlike Lululemon whom you have to call and beg for some inserts to be sent to you separately.  It's just a hassle and not cool.  I really like this tank, I might just keep it in size M since I don't want to give it up!

Lastly, I ordered the V-Neck Hoodie in "blue iris" which is exactly like Lululemon's power purple, not sure why they call it blue.

Again, the back photo they have of this hoodie is only in aqua tint:

I actually ordered this in a size S since I saw how baggy it looks.  But it's still too big!  Definitely need a size XS in this one.  But it's very cute, and makes your boobs look huge for some reason.  You can cinch the sides so it's more like a shirt, or wear it longer like a tunic:

And my best effort of the back photo:

I really like the color of this top and it's super comfy on.  I can see it being a throw on to and from the gym kind of top, or just to wear around while running errands or something.  It's very light weight and stretchy.  The feel of the fabric is also more like Lulu's luxtreme.

So other than the sizing issue, I actually really like what I ordered from Zella!  I can't wait to get the right size and try them out during a workout.  The construction on them looks really nice, so I can see them lasting for a long time.  I think I will keep an eye out for their tanks and mix them with my Lululemon tanks.

Sunday Funday!

So there's only 4 weeks left to my test and I am beginning to be in super studying mode, that means I gotta finish this quick today so I can go take a 6 hour practice test!  Yuck.

Well, first I wanted to say that if you have not entered into the drawing for the Lash Allure MD giveaway, please do so by end of day tomorrow (Monday, 5/7).  I will be posting winners on Tuesday so good luck to all who have entered so far!  And please please please contact me within a reasonable time frame if you are picked.  If I don't hear back, I will have to drop your name and pick someone else.

Secondly, I went to Lululemon today and exchanged my flash Flow Y bra to the flash Centered Energy bra!  So cute!!  I know I have major issues and am extremely indecisive.  But the back of the Centered Energy bra is so cute!  And it's so comfy on too.

This bra is luxtreme, and it is actually more supportive than I thought it would be.  Though the bottom band is very thin and I had to do multiple arm lift tests to see if my boobs would pop out of the bottom!  I tried on both size 4 and size 6, and went with the 4 eventually because I felt that there was more chance of that with the size 6.  Plus 4 is a bit more supportive without being too constricting.  I tried a couple cool racerbacks on over it and it works well.  So this one is definitely a keeper.

I saw the new Lulu swim gear, and didn't even bother trying them on except for the Flip Out Board short which had kind of an off fit.  Like it accentuated the "camel-toe" look.  Although I had to try it on over my crops since I wasn't wearing any underwear lol.  Whatever, it ain't worth $58 for sure.

Ok now let's talk about this week's workouts and outfits!  I actually have decided that in the interest of time management, I am working out 4 times a week instead of 5 between now and my test (June 2).  It was a hard choice, but eventually I decided that I just really can't fail this test because I can't imagine having to study for it again next year.  Some of my coworkers were suggesting I cut out workouts completely and focus 100% on studying.  Umm no, that's not gonna happen.  I think working out makes me feel better and then I can study better anyway!  I rather just call in sick a few times between now and June 2!  Good thing my boss doesn't read this.

As usual, Monday was rest day so I will start on Tuesday.

Tuesday 5/1
What I did:  I went to the gym and continued my weight lifting program.  Stage 5, workout A!

What I wore:  Lululemon cool racerback in aruba, with white Flow Y bra under.  Paired with coal groove pants and New Balance Minimus Road shoes.  Whiskey wanted to show you his butt... hehe.

I wore my beloved Journey Jacket as to/from.

I also have a work outfit from the same day.  I went a little casual, and I wanted to show how I incorporate Lulu clothes into work clothes!  I wore my jacquard lace cool racerback as a cami under my Abercrombie Elaine sweater.

Wednesday 5/2
Rest day from the gym, but I have a work outfit!  I wore my new H&M outfit and it was a hit.  But I wore my Michael Kors Fleur Tall boot with this outfit instead of pumps.

Thursday 5/3
Well, I was going to go lift since I took the day off work for an eye exam appointment.  But the optometrist said it was time to dilate my eyes again, so I couldn't really see for a few hours afterwards and had to wear sunglasses inside!

Friday 5/4
What I did:  Went to lift, workout B of stage 5.

As to/from, I wore my currant Define jacket to match my shoes!

Saturday 5/5
What I did:  Went to lift again!  More than half way through stage 5 now.

What I wore:  Lululemon cool racerback in little boy blue, with bright blue Flow Y bra under.  And white denim Dhanurasana crop, and matching blue Nike Frees!

By the way, the Nike Frees are cut so low that you have to wear extremely low socks with them.  I was wearing my older Lulu Ultimate Running socks before they made the no show version, and this is what it looks like... kinda nerdy!  But I didn't really care I guess.

I also wore my Principle Jacket as to/from.  It is now the perfect weather for this kind of half cut off jackets.

Sunday 5/6
What I did:  I went to do a circuit class intermixed with about 3-4 miles of running/sprinting and lots of weight stations.  It's crazy how much faster I can sprint now since doing my weight training which has lots of leg workouts, i.e. squads, lunges, step ups, etc.  It really makes a difference.

What I wore:  Lululemon No Limit tank in flash, and black Ebb & Flow crop (that's why I wasn't wearing any underwear!), with NB shoes.

I actually wore my Principle jacket again today, bold blue goes so well with flash!  Love this jacket.

Ok, I debated whether to put up this picture or not, but I will be brave and do it.  I went to lay out by the pool for like an hour today and I wore my Victoria's Secret swim suit from a while ago.  Since Lulu swim wear is such a fail, you may want to check out VS.  I've had pretty good luck with their suits and they don't cost much.  All the ones from that post linked above has held up well and they are so cute too.  I might actually buy another set in a few weeks.  I am thinking hot pink!

Can you see my tan line on top of my knees?  I went to a baseball game a couple years ago and wore shorts that are slightly over the knee.  Ended up with a huge tan line that I am STILL trying to get rid of!  Ok now I really have to go study!  Wish me luck!

More New Dress - To Keep Or Not To Keep??

I bought some more dresses from ideeli a couple weeks ago and they arrived today.  I swear, I went on like a mini dress shopping spree.  I really like this Leilani Bali Beach Maxi Dress, but I need help with the other one because I kind of like it from the front but the side does nothing for me!  So here they are:

First is the Leilani maxi:

I actually really heart this dress.  The material is super soft and lightweight, and feels cool to the touch.  The fit is perfect since it's not too tight and yet still gives shape.  I can wear it with a regular bra under or a bikini under.  It's perfect!  The print is kind of fun and the bottom makes it different.  I do need to get it hemmed off an inch or so though, because I'm wearing heels in this photo and it's still a little long.  I'm a shortie, hehe.  I paid $39 for this dress down from retail of $99, which I think is pretty awesome!

Here are photos of the model wearing it over a bikini top, and some up close details:

Love the 3 button front detail

So the next one is the Cherry Stix Floral Tank dress.  I like the fun beachy print for the summer, and I think the front view looks cute.  But the side really really makes me look preggers!  And I do admit the print looks a bit juvenile.  My hubby thinks the fit makes me look too boxy and I should return.  What do you think??  It's only $12.  Worth it?  Or return it and save my $12 for a sandwich?  Lol.

Here are the photos of it on the model:

I also got some flat Dolce Vita sandals - "Mylie".  I thought I could bring them with me to my Turkey/Greece trip in June, since I do not want to wear my flip flops (too casual & American) and also don't want to wear sneakers (too hot) or heels (too uncomfortable for long walks).  They are uber flat, but I'm not sure if they will be ok for all day wear while walking around.  Maybe the straps will cut in and give me blisters or cuts.  I will have to test them out and try to wear them in before I go.

These sandals are made entirely of leather which I like because I think synthetic materials in shoes make the feet stinky.  The straps are a white/cream color that is a bit shiny like patent leather.  They are pretty comfortable on during my home test, but you never know!  I think I will keep these though.  The price was not bad - $52, down from $129.
