Sunday Funday!

So I only lifted weights twice this week, because I had my checkin with my trainer mid-way through the week, and he gave me a completely different training schedule!  I will be doing weights from 4 times a week to 5 times a week.  It was easier for my schedule to start the new program today, and I figured a couple extra days of rest might be a good thing for my body.  I still completed my 3 cardio sessions though, and took a pilates reformer class.  I was super good with my diet this week as well, makes me feel so good!

Monday 6/24
What I did:  30 minutes of walking on the treadmill at 15%.

What I wore:  Lululemon Practice Freely tank in heathered paris pink, and Lorna Jane Devoted 7/8 tight, with Brooks Pure Drift shoes.

Tuesday 6/25
What I did:  Pilates class

What I wore:  Lole Spiral tank with Lululemon Snap Me Up crop, shown here with my Zigi Kickin wedge sneakers.  =)

Wednesday 6/26
What I did:  Lower body weights.

Thursday 6/27
What I did:  This was when I was supposed to finish the last workout of my previous program by doing upper body weights.  But I was really tired and just didn't feel like it.  So I did 30 minutes of the gauntlet, and then took an ab lab class.

It's been super hot here in Southern California last week.  Like 90 degrees and just gross.  I hate it when it's really hot.  So I had to dress cool for work.  This Calvin Klein two-tone surplus knit dress is perfect for this type of weather!  Also matches my new Vince Camuto Dacoma pumps perfectly!  I love this mono-toned look sometimes, with the pop of yellow!

Friday 6/28 - Rest day

Saturday 6/29
What I did:  30 minutes of walking on 15% incline treadmill.

What I wore:  Omg, I'm so glad I wore what I wore, because it was hot as hell and the little gym I went to had no AC!  I was immediately drenched 2 minutes into it.  I knew I should have gone to Equinox.  But anyway, I wore my Lija Fuse Approach tank with Lululemon 50 Rep bra in very violet under.  I also wore Lululemon Energy skirt in potion purple, which I found out is pretty much exactly the same as very violet!  I love this tank, it was so great for my sweaty workout!

Seriously no difference in these colors...

Sunday 6/30
What I did:  Today I began my new weight program!  I started the first of the 5 day plan, which is lower body.  It's shorter than my old plan, with longer rest time in between sets, which means heavier weights.

What I wore:  Lorna Jane outfit!  The Erika Excel tank and Marvel 3/4 Tight, with Brooks shoes.  I really like these tights for weight lifting, especially lower body.  They are very compressive, and I always find that to be helpful when I'm doing squats and lunges type of exercises.

So I think the couple extra days of rest made me feel pretty pumped and ready to go again!  I swear, sometimes you just have to stop to get ahead.  Excited about my new weight workouts next week!

  1. Hello! I recently received my Lole order. Got them after looking at your purchase. However, I was disappointed. I got 4 pcs but 2 of them I wasn't satisfied with the quality. The seams for one of the tank doesn't lay flat properly as it should at the bust. Another tank, the left tank strap is wonky and doesn't lay flat. Perhaps I am just not lucky!

I also tried Lorna Jane. I got a pair of crops. I don't know if they are too tight on me or it is just compressive. Should work on my lower body before I attempt to wear it out of the house. :P

Overall, I think the fit of Lululemon is still best for me in terms of tanks and crops. Sigh...I guess I'm still stuck with lulu.

    1. Athleta has some decent stuff with a money back guarantee if you don't like the way it performs. The revelation & relay crops are nice, and so is the equator tank. I've been meaning to try Oakley, and some of the tanks by Prana are nice. I'm trying to mix up my lulu!

    2. I have athleta's relay and revelation already. They are nice indeed! :)

    3. I actually really like Lole tanks and find them to be very well made. But I only have 3... maybe got lucky on them lol.

I think Lorna Jane tights are super flattering. But I also love some of my Lulu ones too. Overall Lulu still has the best designs and colors, IMO. But it's nice to mix things up.

    1. Yes, they are completely opaque. When I wear Lulu tights, I'm always wondering why people are standing behind me lol. Super paranoid. I'll go find a spot against the wall where no one will see my rear. So sad... no such problems with Lorna Jane!

    2. I just ordered some splits59 and lucy crops-everybody is having big sales so it seems like a good time to try some new brands. So far I like Lorna Jane, Athleta, and Yogasmoga.

    3. I just ordered from Splits59 too! I got the Serena tank which I've been eyeing for ages! Didn't pull the trigger at full price and now it's 50% off. =) It seems they are pulling out a lot of older stock from last year or so for this sale. I got a Dallas hoodie that was older stock/color combo. But I don't care, love it. Wish they had more crops in my size. =( I love those Ginger crops with metallic stripe down the side! But they only have a size large... grrr!

Ok, Yogasmoga is not impressing me so far. I ordered back in April and got an email like 6 weeks ago saying I'd have to wait another 4-6 weeks. Well, it's July now! I don't even want them anymore. Not to mention they charged my cc right away. Not cool.

    4. I don't think you missed anything if you don't get your yogasmoga. I got a pair of their tippy toe tights. It is not stretchy enough for me to feel comfortable. But it was too long. The material is not smooth. I wouldn't say scratchy but it is not as smooth as my Athleta Revelation crops. In fact, I have a pair of lululemon WU which is also not as nice as my Revelation.

I ordered Splits59 as well! The Nova and Dusty....I hope I would like them. :)

  3. I love my athleta bare to run knickers-super light weight.

Waiting so long for crops/leggings would make me nuts. I agree yoga smoga isn't especially soft. I do like their compression and how opaque they are.

My wonder unders were super soft but I lost weight and they don't fit. With sheerness issues or sizing issues as lulu suggests on their site, I have been trying to branch out. I will have to try athletas revelations.
