Sunday Funday!

Something strange happened to me this week.  I came back from New York on Sunday night last week, very late, and had to be at work on Monday morning.  Needless to say, I was falling asleep all day which was to be expected.  However, this fatigue lasted almost the entire week!  I never felt so tired, and I really didn't recovered until this weekend.  I didn't even feel like going to the gym this week, which almost never happens to me.  I did drag myself there twice.  Usually if I take a long break from the gym like I did last week, it is harder to get back in.  However, after going back once or twice, I get back into the habit immediately.   But this time was different.  Even when I was at the gym this week, I wished I wasn't.  My second time this week was worse than the first time too lol.  I actually found this quite interesting.  Maybe it was just my body's way of telling me that I needed a break.  Strange, since I did just take a break.  But I decided to "listen" to it, as they say, and didn't force myself to complete all my workouts.  There's really no point of going to the gym if I'm going to feel more miserable than not going.  So, we'll see if this body decides it's had enough rest next week!  Otherwise I might start to get worried lol.

But in all seriousness, I think it's actually entirely possible that my super allergic reaction to mosquito bites caused me to be so tired.  I counted 11 bites on my legs from just an hour of dinner at a restaurant patio in New York.  I have always been very allergic to mosquito bites and they seem to love me.  Each bite turns into big nasty red bruises.  Some are as big as my fist, I kid you not.  One time, when I lived in Australia (everything there is bigger lol) I got bit once on the top of my hand and my entire hand swelled up so big that I couldn't even move my fingers.  This time the reaction was quite bad too which caused me misery for days.  I googled and found that sometimes reactions to mosquito bites do cause fatigue.  The timing sure makes sense.  But it's hard to tell.  They are fading away slowly now, and I feel better.  But again, it might just be coincidence.

Monday 6/1 - Rest

Tuesday 6/2 - Rest

Wednesday 6/3
What I did:  Still doing Get Glutes month 8.  Strength session #1.

What I wore:  Oh yeah, since I got all kinds of awful mosquitoe bites on my legs, I had to wear long pants all week.  No skirts to work, and no crops to the gym.  I wore the Skull tank from Etsy, with Lululemon High Times pant in diamond jacquard jewelled magenta and Nike Free 5.0 TR Fit 4 shoes in ash.

Alo Yoga Rift LS as to and from:

Thursday 6/4
What I did:  Strength #2 - this was a real struggle.

What I wore:  Beyond Yoga elastic sweep tank with Lululemon free to be bra in white under.  Nike Flash tight, and same Nike shoes.

I was going to a Dodger game after work, so I decided to wear my Vince Knit Scuba jacket to the gym so that I could bring it to work with me and wear it to the game after work.

By the way, I saw the cutest thing at the Dodger stadium - I had no idea what this was but apparently it's called a bullpen cart.  Back in the day, they used to bring pitchers to the mound in these cute carts:

It's so cute, I want one!

Since my Thursday's workout didn't make me feel so great, I actually lost motivation to go workout for the rest of the week lol.  Didn't even feel that guilty about it which is unusual.  But I realized on Friday that my Universal Studios annual pass was expiring this coming Monday, which means that in order to take advantage of what I paid for, I would need to go back there this weekend.  So I went back today!  I wore what I would normally wear to the gym haha... it's kind of a workout to walk around in the heat and stand in line all day!  =P

I wore Under Armour Achieve tank with Lorna Jane Quick Step bra under.  Lululemon Empower Crop, and Nike Free 5.0 TR Fit 4 shoes in hyper cobalt/bright mango.

It was in the high 80s there today.  So no need for any long sleeves.

I also wore the Lululemon What'SUP Hat in star crushed deep navy which you can see when I ran into Beetlejuice and he wanted to take a picture with me lol:

Fun times!  The lines were not long at all today, and I rode everything I wanted to, even multiple times on the Mummy ride so I'm happy.

  1. I am a magnet for bugs - the hubby can be sitting there with me and I'm getting eaten alive and they aren't even bothering him. I've also had the same reaction with bruising - it has gotten worse as I get old, unfortunately....
