Sunday Funday!

This feels like a very weird weekend, I think it's because I am still recovering from the Lululemon warehouse sale that I went to on Friday!  I know this sounds silly, but standing in line for 4 hours and shopping in a mad house while digging through piles of go-back clothes outside of fitting rooms that others passed on and trying to avoid being elbowed in the face at the same time.... was really exhausting!  Maybe more mentally exhausting than physically.  I think I really hate Lululemon right now for making me go through this experience.  Lol... ok fine, nobody "made" me go.  But I just feel like it was way hyped, they way under-reported the wait time and the products they had were definitely below expectation.  On top of it all, the prices really were not that great!  For example, the Fast Track tanks were $29 at the sale, but you can get them online right now for $34!  If I really wanted one, I would have paid $5 more and ordered from the comfort of my couch.  But then again, this is exactly what one should expect from this company that creates this fanatic shopping mentality while they laugh their asses all the way to the bank.

So I started my slightly updated new workout plans this week.  I now have workouts such as weighted negative chinups.  Ughhhh... lol... and I thought negative chinups were tough on their own already.  I also did real deadlifts for the first time ever!  So strange that I've always done Romanian deadlifts, or American deadlifts, and even Sumo deadlifts, but never just the good old deadlifts.  My trainer said I should be able to use heavier weights than I do when I do American deadlifts, which I use 90 lbs for.  So I used 100 lbs to do deadlifts and my lower back felt a little sore the next day even though I made sure to squat down and use my legs to get back up.  I guess I'll have to play with my positioning some more to see if this was a good weight to use.  It's always hard to tell with new exercises.  I'm annoyed that the heaviest barbells at my gym are 110 lbs.  I wish they'd at least go to 130!  I don't want to have to use the squat rack all the time.

Anyways!  So here are my workouts for the week!

Monday 9/9
What I did:  Lower body weights circuit.  4 rounds of 6 lower body exercises, followed by 4 sets of calf raises.  Then 30 minutes of cardio intervals on 15% incline treadmill.  I like my lower body weight circuits because I think they are effective.  But I hate doing them because someone always ends up taking something I need while I'm on other machines!  I don't want to leave a towel on every machine/station I need to claim my spot, when I'm doing so many different things and would be holding each one up for like an hour.  I know some people do that but I think that's really bad gym etiquette.  My lower body circuit workout used to be on Fridays when the gym is less crowded, but now that my trainer moved it to Mondays, I have to deal with a lot more people!  I need to be a billionaire and have my own private gym lol.

What I wore:  Lululemon swiftly racerback in heathered plum - so glad I kept this one actually!  I wore the Victoria's Secret Angel sports bra under it and Lorna Jane Marvel 3/4 Tight and Brooks Pure Drift shoes.

Tuesday 9/10
What I did:  Weights for back and bi.  It actually had some supersets in it too.  I was going to do my cardio session afterwards but it ended up taking longer than I thought so skipped cardio and went home.

I'm not sure if you can tell from my photos, but the flash bra (circle mesh) portion of this tank is now a lot lighter color than the straps (luxtreme).  This is because the damn tank bled onto itself last time I wore it, after I've worn it and washed it many times before that!  It's so strange that it never happened before and I didn't sweat more last time than usual.  But the inner flash bra bled onto itself and dyed the fossil outside part in many places both in front and back of the tank.  I should have taken a picture of it, but I was so distraught that I forgot.  I basically ended up soaking the whole tank in Oxyclean for about 3 days, and most of it came out eventually.  The side effect though, is that the bra color is now much much lighter than before.  I think it's hard to capture it on photos though, because flash tends to look more saturated on photos.  It looks worse than this in real life:

Well, at least I can still wear it though.  I love this tank!  I was so sad this happened and thought it was gone for good.

It was actually a little cooler earlier this week so I wore my Splits59 Olivia Run Tee in barberry as to and from.

Wednesday 9/11
What I did:  I did double workouts!  First I did my weights, shoulder and triceps, where weighted negative chinups were involved.  Then I did 30 minutes of cardio intervals.  Then I went to pilates!

I haven't had time to write about this yet, but I got an Inspire pullover in heathered lolo purple!  I wore it as to and from.

I actually bought it when it was in the store but I returned it later on and kept the teal zeal one.  But I did post pictures of me wearing this one since I was debating which color to keep.  I was looking at this older post today, which was from September 2010 - exactly 3 years ago.  At the time the post was made, I was doing a lot of cardio and eating a lot less food.  I did not weigh much differently than I do now.  But here is what I looked like then in the same pullover, same size... I think weight lifting is really good for me because I like how I look now at age 30 better than I did at 27!  :)

For pilates on the same day, I wore another new to me tank that I haven't had time to post about either - the Namaste tank!  Wow I heart this tank, it gives you more curves than you actually have!  It's super comfy, but very long though.  I might take an inch off of it.  I wore it with Lululemon Ebb & Flow crops in black.

Thursday 9/12
What I did:  It was my rest day from weights, so I just did my 30 minute cardio interval.

What I wore:  Lululemon Dance Strap tank in black, with Lululemon Run Fast short in oasis and Brooks Pure Drift shoes again.

Friday 9/13
What I did:  I can't believe I went to the gym after standing in line forever at the Lulu warehouse sale.  And it was leg day!  So I did my lower body exercises and then my 30 minutes of cardio interval session - 4th and final, to finish off the week.

What I wore:  Lululemon swiftly racerback in pow pink, with laceoflage free to be bra under.  Sort of matchy matchy Lululemon Mod Moves crop in afterglo, and Brooks shoes again for the 3rd time this week!

Saturday 9/14
What I did:  My last weight workout of the week!  Upper body supersets.

Today was another rest day from working out.  So that concludes this week!  Hope everyone had a great weekend!  I am not looking forward to my lower body circuit workout tomorrow!

Lululemon Los Angeles Warehouse Sale Report!

I've had a looooong day!  I went to the Lululemon Los Angeles Warehouse sale this morning.  Since it was the first warehouse sale they've had in LA, I didn't know what to expect and did not know how many people were going to show up.  They opened the door at 8 am at the Convention Center, which happens to be right next to my work.  I took the day off though, but I got up at the usual time and parked at the work parking lot then walked over to the sale.  I probably got there around 7:45.  The line was already almost out the door!  I was with a friend, and we were still hopeful that it wouldn't take that long.  We had read that they were letting in 600 people inside at a time, so we figured that we'd be at least inside during the second wave.  But boy were we wrong!  It moved a lot at first when the door opened at 8 because all the people in front were let in.  Then it became super super slow!  After an hour into waiting, we figured it was probably another 30 min or hour.  It was hard to tell because the line wrapped around the building so you couldn't really see how long it was.  But we came to a complete stop almost.  So 2 hours in, we really wanted to turn around and go home.  But what are you going to do when you've already been standing in line for 2 hours???  That's right, wait longer!

This picture doesn't even capture a quarter of the line

Umm... why did someone think it was a good idea to bring their little dog to get trampled?

So then 3 hours went by... then 4...

Right outside the door!  Where they were letting in like 2 people at a time...

and alas, we were inside.

My iphone died at this point because of all the facebook and text messages I've been sending while in line for 4 hours

I was so tired from waiting!  My friend's friend went early and was done so she got us some food at least so we didn't die of hunger.  I also was able to get a bottle of water from the vending machine and filled it up once from the water fountain.  So that kept me alive.  But I'm serious, if I had thought waiting for 4 hours was a remote possibility, I would have got my ass up at an hour earlier to wait.  Or just not go at all.

Here is the price list:

So as you can see, not all deals were good.  I think the dresses, bras, shorts, skirts and jacket prices were good.  The accessories prices were good too.  But they didn't have any dresses, bras, and barely any shorts and skirts lol.  They continued to bring merchandise in, but you can tell it was just the same crap over and over again.  Most of the stuff I've seen on mark down online or in store before.  I think if you had gone earlier, you could have gotten some better things, but by the time I got there, a lot of things were gone.

I really wanted some shorts or skirts, but did not see a single pair of Speed shorts.  I also wanted socks but they only had men's socks.  I wanted some tanks, cool racerbacks, whatever, they didn't have any.  Most tanks they had were like the Track Attack tanks or others that have been on markdown.  I wanted some crops like wunder unders or luxtreme crops but they only had colors I didn't want.  A lot of pizzazz, love red, and some kind of blue.  They also had quite a few pairs of pinkalicious In the Flow crops.  They had a shit load of these white Power Flow crops that were marked down to $9.  I tried them on when they first came out in the store, and remember them being a pretty bad fit so I wasn't even tempted at $9.  Luminous tanks were $9 as well and they had tons of pink and blue colors but I didn't want any either.

So, what did I get?  lol... just one bag!  Walked out in under $200.  They were using left over bags from Seawheeze.  I asked for a small one as well.

Coastal Om & Sand Savasana swim wear, St Moritz Jacket, Glacier Vest, Full Stride Skirt, Runder Under LS and Shady Lady Run Visor

Foxy Lulu Thongs - 4 pairs

Right when I was about to go inside, they announced that swim wear was marked down to $9 a piece.  I thought that was a great deal because I actually really liked the swim wear when they first came out.  I didn't buy them because I just didn't feel like spending full price on them.  But for $9 a piece, I had to get more than 1 pair!

Coastal Om triangle bikini top and Sand Savasana bottom:

Here's the opposite combo in a different color:  Sand Savasana top and Coastal Om bottom.  I think these can be all mixed and matched which is awesome.

The top in the top picture is a size 6, everything else is a 4.  I didn't try anything on because I didn't want to be bothered at the sale, I got it in size 6 because the size 4 looked small.  I really like these!  I think these were by far the best deals.

Although the Shady Lady Run Visor is only $4 and will be perfect for tennis:

The Full Stride Skirt was $24 so it wasn't a bad deal, but I think it is a little loose on me in the back and side.  The back is longer than front and it is longer than other Lulu running skirts in regular length.  It's not too bad, but it's whatever in my opinion.  This is a size 4R as well.  I do like the very wide waistband.  It's a comfy fit for sure.  I can wear it for tennis too.

The Runder Under LS was $39 and I like it a lot as well.  It's so so comfy, and it reminds me a lot of my Turn Around LS.  I love the solid black down the arms and back though.  Also got size 4.

It's reversible too!  I like the reverse side a lot as well:

Logo is on top on this side vs lower right on the other side

Funny, I was just thinking I wanted a dark colored long sleeve shirt, and here it was!  This one I found in a bin I wasn't supposed to look in.  It was right outside of fitting rooms and someone had chucked it on the bottom of a box, obviously passed on it.  I grabbed it but right after that, some workers told me I wasn't supposed to be in that area.

I don't know why I'd need this, but I thought the Glacier Vest in burning yellow was pretty cute.  Although I was torn between size 4 and 6.  There were no mirrors anywhere there so my friend was my mirror.  She said 4 was good but I kind of think 6 might have been better because it feels tight in the chest.  But since I live in such a warm climate, I won't layer anything under this.  I don't even know when/why I would ever wear it.  Maybe if I go on vacation to a cold place!  It was $39, but it retailed for like $150 so I think this was a great deal too.  I never pay attention to these heavy winter stuff because I don't need them, especially at their high retail prices.  But this price is definitely way more acceptable.  It's suuuuper soft and cozy inside.  Very very comfy.  I also liked the white one that I saw some people carrying in their hands but I couldn't find any on racks.

This is the softest thing

So the inner piece can be completely zipper off, which is this piece you see down in the pic below, which is attached to the hood.  I love that you can go with or without hood!

The outside has another zipper and magnetic flap closure:

So the thing that I am kind of regretting getting is the St Moritz jacket.  I have no need whatsoever for this.  But I also found this in (a different) bin outside of the fitting rooms, and it was the only St Moritz jacket left inside!  Another girl was eyeing it but she was a second too late grabbing it lol.  This was vicious I tell ya!  So she told me: if you don't want that, please give it to me.  Of course I said: I do want it.  But now that I'm home, I really think I don't need it at all!  Not to mention it is a size 2 and I think it's too tight and too short on me!  My friend told me it was ok and "super cute".  Ugh.  I wish I had a damn mirror.  This jacket was the most expensive item I got, at $49.

This jacket is also suuuuper soft inside.  It's fleece and divine.  I loved the feel as soon as I put it on.  Too bad!!!

Did you go to the sale today?  Did you see me??  This is what I was wearing!

If you did not go today and want to go tomorrow, my tip is to not wait in line for 4 hours lol.  If you live close enough and have a couple hours to kill then why not check it out.  It was an experience but the things inside were not worth the wait, especially if you have been following the brand the past couple years.  I don't think I got anything that I really needed.  The swim wear is really cute and great deal, but how often am I really going to wear them?  I might get the most use out of the visor and Runder Under LS.  Oh and I could always use some underwear I guess.  But if you don't have a lot of Lululemon items, it might be good to go to and get some stuff for cheap.  Just keep in mind these are things that were not as popular and have been marked down when they were in stores.

They didn't give out any shopping bags inside, and they don't allow big purses.  I'm really glad I went with my cross shoulder bag so I didn't have to worry about carrying a purse.  They had these canvas gym bags for sale, I didn't buy one, but I did grab one to use as a shopping tote and just left it at the cashier.  That worked out really well.  I padded myself in the back for that.  :)

So I got there at around 7:45 and left at about 1:15.  I was inside for maybe an hour total.  The girl at check out was supposed to cut off all my tags but she was really weird and possibly on something so she forgot to do that for half of my stuff.  She also gave me a 10% additional discount which my friend did not get with a different cashier.  Of course I'm not complaining about that part!  I also didn't remind her to cut off my tags.  I actually tried to get the other tags but she didn't budge on that one.

I might consider going back tomorrow or Sunday to see if they have last minute deals and if they've added new, more exciting stuff.  I doubt it, so I will leave immediately if the line is more than 30 minutes long.  I'm done waiting in line for a long time after today.  But I think they might have more heavy discounts later on so I'm a little tempted to go check it out.  Now I'm so tired!  I actually went to the gym after standing around for 5 hours and did a hard leg workout followed by cardio!  My body is very tired.  It's bed time!

Lululemon Ebb & Flow Racerback in Heathered Plum

I went to the Lululemon store today and bought the Ebb & Flow Racerback in heathered plum.  But the same tank online is called Ebb to Street tank.  So, I'm not sure what it's actually called.  Which one is the authority?  Tag or website?  I think I'm going with tag because their website is often wrong and unreliable.

I was actually thinking about ordering it when it was first uploaded to the site a couple days ago.  But I figured I didn't need another plum tank since I already have the swiftly racerback and the cool racerback.  But I tried it on today in the store, and immediately fell in love with it!  It's seamless so it's stretchy and it conforms to your body.  It feels so comfortable on, like wearing pajamas!  I also love the ribbed look of the material.  At first I thought it didn't have a built in bra, but it actually does and there were cups in there already.

I still have the tag on the plum cool racerback, so I think I will return it since I just have too many cool racerbacks and the fact that I still haven't taken the tag off and worn it probably means I don't really want it.  I really try to limit tanks in similar colorways to 2 tanks at the most.  Otherwise my already overflowing drawers will not close anymore.

Close up of the material:

The upper back has a different pattern:

I got this in my normal size, which is a 4.  It is also the smallest size this tank comes in.  It looked small on the hanger and at first I thought maybe I needed a 6.  But the 4 is actually perfect.  I'm very happy with the fit and how comfy it is!  It's about the same length as a cool racerback on me.  But it's more fitted because of the nature of the knit material.  It doesn't feel tight or constrictive at all.  I think it would be great for low impact type of workouts.

Here it is on me, with the Ebb & Flow crops!

The store I went to only had this tank in plum and black.  But there's also cornflower blue and angel wing online.  I love ribbed white tanks for some reason so I'm kind of tempted by the angel wing one now!

7 For All Mankind Blue Laser Plaid Coated Skinny Jeans

I went to the 7 for all mankind sample sale on Saturday at their warehouse in Vernon.  It was outside in their parking lot in like 100 degree heat!  Lol.  Here's the women's side:

The men's side was the same size on the opposite side.  I didn't take a picture of it.

I did not spend long there at all.  The selection was actually kind of crappy I thought, and price wasn't that great for things that you'd want.  The sale was pretty organized though.  All the racks were organized by size and similar items are grouped together so it was pretty quick to go through them.

Their short sleeve shirts were $20, long sleeve shirts were $30, and jeans were $55.  That is a lot less than what they retail for, of course, and even half of what you could get on flash sale sites.  But still not cheap enough to scoop up a bunch.  They didn't have any shorts or skirts, which was what I primarily went there for.  They did, however, have items that had been "green tagged", which were only $10 a piece!  I saw nothing wrong or damaged about them.  I think that most of them were just plain old ugly and they needed to get rid of them.  They were like velvet red skinny jeans, or pleather looking metallic colored skinny jeans in not so attractive colors.  The only "regular" looking jeans they had were very light wash with distressing.  I didn't feel like spending $55 on those.  Maybe I arrived too late and all the good stuff sold out - they opened at 7 am and I got there at around 3 pm lol.  They did say they were going to update inventory throughout the day though... Anyway, I got out of there with 1 pair of green tagged skinny pants for $10, and that was all.

They didn't allow anyone to try on anything and had lots of security guards to make sure you didn't break this rule.  They wouldn't even allow you to put a shirt on top of your existing shirts.  So you better know your size or be really good at eyeballing.  I grabbed a size 27 in the pants I got.  I normally wear size 26-27 in jeans.  I figured that since they were the skinny style, going up with the larger of the 2 sizes was the safer choice.  I wasn't too sure about them at first, but after I got home and put them on, I found that they actually fit perfectly and I think I like them!  Especially for $10... you really can't lose there.

They are dark blue, with laser plaid print painted on and they are coated so they look kind of leathery.  The tag says due to the special washing technique they used, no 2 pairs were alike.  They are a little "out there", but not too bad at all.  I like plaid.

Here's a close up of the print:

So they are a little long on me, but I don't mind scrunching them up a little on the bottom.  They do feel quite thick and hot so definitely a cooler weather item.  I used to buy a lot of designer jeans, but I haven't in a long time (since I started buying expensive workout/weekend clothes lol) and forgot about how comfy 7 jeans were!  They really feel great on.

Here is the back pocket:

And I like that the logo is inconspicuous and kind of blends in with the rest of the pants:

$10 for these is pretty good huh??  Lol.  I think their bottoms retail for almost $200 at minimum, and I see them on discount sites for like $90 sometimes but never for $10!  So I consider this one a pretty decent score and I won't feel that bad about it if I don't end up wearing them too often.
