Lululemon Beach Runner Jacket - Love it!!

I kind of took a chance and ordered the Lululemon Beach Runner Jacket in dune/fresh teal/white when I saw it on sale for $89, down from $128.  I have not seen this jacket in the store, so I wasn't able to try it on.  Sale items are final sale, and $89 is not an amount I'd like to throw away.  It's almost $100 after tax!  But I thought it looked cute and the reviews are pretty good, so I got very tempted.  And then I read that it's made of brushed luxtreme!  Ok!  Sold!!!

I really love the fit of this jacket.  I got it in my normal size 4, and it's a body skimming fit but not tight.  It definitely does not look as loose on me as it does on the Lulu model, so not a size-down item.  I don't think this model does justice to most of the things she models.  Maybe they just dress her one size too big or something and she's a little too skinny with a pretty flat chest, but I never really like anything on her.

I think brushed luxtreme is a great material for jackets.  I only have one jacket in brushed luxtreme (Lift Your Spirits) and every time I put it on, it's so soft, stretchy and warmer than it looks.  This jacket actually has quite a bit of detail.  The under arm and upper back areas are mesh, as you can see from the photos, which will keep your sweaty areas more ventilated.  The stripe that goes down the back is a cute mesh design as well.

The arms are actually wider fitting than most of my other Lululemon size 4 long sleeve items.  It's great for moving, you can raise your arms and swing them around without feeling constricted.  The cuffs have a stripe of reflective band on the inside so you can flip them up to make use of that.  Or leave the cuffs down to have less of an athletic jacket look.  It's a great idea!  The zippers are like the old plastic ones they used to use.  The length is great, and it's just a winner overall!

Here it is on me:

I don't usually gravitate towards colorblocked items, but I like this one.  I also like this jacket in dune and bleached coral.  But I didn't have a choice since that one only had size 8 and 10 left when I looked.  I would get the black one in this as well if I didn't already have my Lift Your Spirits jacket in black and same material!  But if you don't, I think it would be a great basic black jacket to have.

  1. How does it compare to the in stride jacket?

    1. I don't have an in stride but did have a stride jacket before. I had to size down to a 2 in that one. So I would say this jacket fits tighter than the stride. Length is about the same, maybe a little bit shorter as far as I can remember (sold that jacket a while back).

  2. Oh now that I see the jacket on you I am tempted to get it. You are right about this model. She does not wear Lululemon stuff well. You look great in this jacket.

  3. This jacket looks fabulous on you! I can't figure out why lululemon uses this model so often. I am not tempted by anything she wears.

  4. Ok what's up with Glyder? Their clothes are the most lulu like and the prices are really cheap. I've never heard of them before! I'm going to order some mantra space dye crops and will report back!

    1. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Pay attention to the size chart. I had to order a size smaller than what I normally wear.
