Here are the before and after pictures of our balcony:
Not bad huh?? These tiles are very easy to install, you just click them into each other. My husband and his brother did it within a couple hours. That included cutting time as they had to saw the tiles of the last row to fit. I think it just looks so much nicer than the dirty cement before! They don't come water proofed though, so you have to put on water seal yourself. We've had them for a few weeks now and so far so good! I now go to the balcony to sit and read more often than before and I feel like I can walk barefoot there.
These are not cheap though. They actually cost more than hardwood per square foot. But not that expensive if the size of your balcony is not that big. They come in packs of 10 tiles for $65. Each tile is one square foot. So that's $6.5 per square foot, which is quite expensive. Luckily our balcony is only roughly like a 7 ft X 8 ft, so we only had to buy 6 packs and have a few left over. I also received a 10% off Overstock code email the day we decided to buy these, coincidentally, so we spent a total of $350. Not too bad I guess, definitely worth it to make the balcony a more usable space!
It's really pretty. Your husband did a great job!
ReplyDeleteWe must make grilling now ;)
Haha yep! We bought a mat for the grill and everything so it won't ruin the new floor! I see lots of BBQs happening this summer.
