Pretty Nike Shoes & Studio Wraps!

I don't really need more workout shoes, especially Nike Frees, because they are not that great for me since I don't really run.  But they are so pretty!  So what the hell.

My newest Nike Free 3.0 V5, printed:

I love this mosaic print look.  These are more expensive than regular Nike Free 3.0s.  They are $115.  I figured I could use them a lot since they are black and white and therefore would go with everything.  The same shoes on Nordstrom's website look exactly like the ones I got, even though I ordered mine from Nike.com.

I actually also like the Nike Free 5.0s in the photo below.  But not as much as the ones I got!

I received them yesterday and actually already wore them today for my workout!  I have to say though, these fit really tight on me.  My other Nike shoes are size 6, but I ordered these in 6.5 because I wanted a looser fit to give room for some swelling.  But the opening of the shoe is pretty tight and hard to get my feet inside.  If you don't own any of the 3.0s, the tongue is completely attached to the sides of the shoe, so you have to sort of jam your feet in.  These just feel much tighter than my other 3.0s in half a size smaller.  When I wore them today for my workout, I felt they were kind of constricting the top arch of my feet and cutting off my blood flow!  I think I'll wear them a few more times though, just to be sure.  They might stretch out a little.  Nike allows returns within 30 days even if you've worn them.  So I have some time to test them out.  What a shame though!  I was totally set on keeping them.

So if you are interested in getting these, I'd definitely recommend going up at least half a size from your normal Nike size.  Here are some pictures of them on me:

I also got the printed Nike Studio Wraps, just because they are on sale and I've been sort of intrigued by these shoes before.  Nike has quite a few of these now, some cost over $100, which seems crazy!  But the ones I got are now $29, down from $50.  $29 just seems a lot more reasonable and worth trying out.  I have seen girls at my pilates studio wearing these wraps, so that's what I will be using them for as well.

The bottom has grips, kind of like wearing grippy socks in pilates:

I like the color combo of these and think that they will go with a lot of outfits.  I got size XS which is what the size chart recommends.  They come in a very small box, and they look tiny when not stretched!

I didn't even read the description when I ordered these, but apparently they come with a carrying pouch.  Cool!

Here they are on me... I think the size is ok, but it's kind of tight in between the toes.  I wore them around for about 10 minutes and they felt ok, but if I take an hour class and move around in them, that could be a different story.  Hmmm... but I don't know if a size up would be too loose for the rest of the feet.  I think I'll just take a gamble and deal with it.

I'm excited to try these out though!  Sometimes my grippy socks don't stick that well when I'm on the reformer.  Maybe these will be better!  I must sign up for a pilates class ASAP.   See... buying a lot of workout gear DOES give you motivation to go workout!  =)

  1. Love the studio wraps. Does the blue color on your pair match the Angel Blue from LLL? They run small. I wear a 6.5 and ordered size small. They also don't stretch out much.

    1. Oh thanks! Maybe I'll have to exchange them for a size small then. The blue is cooler than angel blue. It's more like spry blue but not as bright.

  2. Both shoes are cute. I have wondered about the studio wraps. Does it feel funny to have no sole or bottom under the toes?

  3. I think it feels perfectly natural but I am used to Pilates with toe socks and the wraps give you better traction with the toes exposes. You also get some arch support.

  4. Yeah, I'm used to wearing lots of toe socks in Pilates too, so it's not that weird for me. I would wear them to do yoga or barre work as well. I think they'd provide better traction than my grippy socks.

  5. They help with planks in Barre class and any moves where you have to hold on and pull away from the barre. The mesh bag is for laundering them.

    1. Oh I thought the pouch was for carrying them around. Hahaha. But that's cool that it's a laundry bag!

  7. Did you end up getting a S in the wraps? I'm normally a 6 in nike and ordered xs and was wondering if you exchanged. Thanks for the blog!

    1. No I never exchanged them... I couldn't wait to wear them! Haha... But I've worn them a few times already and was never bothered by anything so xs works for me!
