Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Round 2

My second order from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale arrived today!  This one is definitely more successful than the first one.  I order two jackets even though it's been 80-90 degrees here, because I'm obsessed with jackets lol.  Well, one of them is like a cardigan, which is quite perfect for my climate.  And it is the one that I love love LOVE!  In fact, I love it so much that the tag came off right away and I promptly ordered 2 more in different colors!

It is the Caslon Drape Neck Zip Cardigan.  I got it in black, but I just ordered the heather gray and tan one as well.  The online pictures do not do it justice whatsoever.

This cardigan is super soft and nice!  It's 95% model and 5% spandex.  It drapes very nicely, and looks great open or zipped.  The best part is, it's only $45 during the sale!  Full price is $68.  It definitely looks more expensive.  The style is easy and will go with just about anything.  I'm so happy with this little thing!

I ordered size XS - I read some of the reviews say that they had to size up because the shoulder/arms fit tight - I did not find this to be the case at all in the black color.  I ordered the same size in the other two colors so we'll see when they arrive if they fit the same across the board.  This is how it looks on me both open and zipped:

Closer shots worn both ways:

Look, it even has pockets!  They are pretty decently sized as well:

It's a little hard to see, but the sides are ribbed:

The cuffs are ribbed too:

Seriously, love it!!!  I'd happily keep 3 of the same style for $130.  So worth it.  That's like the price of one Lululemon jacket.

The second jacket I ordered is actually a real jacket.  It is the 1.State Convertible Tweed Moto Jacket in a lovely red color.  I think their online photos of this jacket look gorgeous:

I think this jacket is kind of the opposite of the other one - the pictures make it look better than it does in person!  Maybe I got the wrong size, but I find it to fit kind of boxy.  I ordered size 2.  It seems to fit well in the shoulders/arms, but loose in the waist.  It's also quite short as well.  I don't know if a size 0 would fit in the shoulders.  I also feel like it just has too many zippers.  It converts to a vest (arms can be zipped off) but not sure how often I'd actually use that feature.  Plus, it's quite a thick jacket which is not all that useful to me either.

Here it is open and zipped:

Here it is as a vest:

But kind of weird to have a dangly zipper pull after you zip off the sleeves:

 Some close ups:

Rather large pockets too:

So I'm not so sure about this jacket.  The material is nice and color is lovely.  It seems to be made well and it fits ok.  I don't hate it, but I don't love it like I love the Caslon cardigan.  It's also $100 which is the price of 2 of the cardigans lol.  So I'll probably return it and save my money towards things I really love!

  1. The cardigan does look soft, comfortable, and stylish. I am glad that you found something that you love ! I have been obsessed with the anniversary sale. Between Lulu and Nordstrom, I am so distracted these days, lol. My biggest score is Diane von Furstenburg's lace dress in plum. It is absolutely stunning. Will go to the store (1.5 h away) tomorrow to return a pair of shoes and check out more items. Happy shopping!

    1. I think I know which DvF dress you are talking about - I saw it too and thought it was super cute! But didn't think I had a need for it so I didn't get it. I have been checking Nordstrom's anniversary sale regularly too lol... but luckily Lulu has not been tempting me lately. So big bucks saved there. =D
