Sunday Funday!

So, I quit my job this week.  I'm so happy lol.  All week I've been sleeping in, working out for 2 hours a day, and then going shopping.  I had been working at the same company for over 8 years!  I got so tired of it, more so than I even realized.  I would constantly be checking my work email on my phone on weekends, nights, and during vacation.  Sometimes I even remote logged onto my work computer to do work (a lot of my work were performed by only me with no backup).  So it just felt like I never truly got away.  Not having to think about it AT ALL was a little weird in the beginning, but it is so nice!  I did some calculations, and luckily I now have enough savings to live the same lifestyle for at least 5 years without having to work.  If I move to a cheaper city/country, I could stretch it a few more years too.  But of course I don't want to do nothing for that long.  I think it would get boring pretty fast.  I originally wanted to quit my job and take a few months off to just chill until at least next year, but I got a really good offer from a different company (which happens to be located right next to my gym and that makes me really happy lol!) so I've accepted that and I'm going to have to start working again soon.  I realized after spending so much money shopping this week, that working will be a good way for me to save money lol.  But in the meantime, I'm going to enjoy a bit more freedom!

I've been going to the gym everyday this week around 9 or 10 am.  I love it.  The gym at this time is not nearly as crowded (but still not as empty as you would think) and I can take my time with my weight exercises as well as cardio.  So needless to say, I got in all my workouts and then some.  I finished week 4 of month 12 of Get Glutes!  The completion of the one year mark for this training program coincides with the end of my job, which is kind of cool!

Saturday 10/31 - I took off both days of this weekend from the gym.  But I did go out to one of my favorites restaurants for dinner last night - Bestia.  It's hard to get a reservation there, but you gotta go!  The space is awesome and food is so good.  It was Halloween, but I stopped dressing up a few years ago lol.  Here's my outfit:

Bag:  Vince Modern V Pochette in rhubarb

It's still super hot here in LA, so I didn't even need a jacket.

I hope you all had a great Halloween!  Don't eat too much candy!  =)

  1. Congrats on your new job! I love reading your posts because you're living the dream - working out in pretty clothes, shopping, eating great food all while staying incredibly fit. And you come off as so laid back that it's easy for us to forget how successful you must be to afford all of this! :) Would love to hear more about what you do and how you got there (if you feel comfortable doing so, of course). Ps I absolutely love your Weds and Thurs outfits!

    1. Aww that's so nice of you to say! =) I work in institutional investment management. It's not all that interesting, but I do have a little niche specialty that gives some leverage. I probably get paid too much for what I do... but I'll take it!

    1. Thanks! I know I talk about shopping almost exclusively on this blog, but I do believe it's very important to have enough savings for emergencies. You just never know what could happen!

  3. Congrats on the job transition! I'm a regular reader, but not much of a commenter. That said, I always enjoy seeing your clothes and reading about your workouts. :)

  4. Hooray for fresh starts! :) And hooray for not worrying about anyone trying to poison your food, LOL. Enjoy the break, and I hope your new job is a great improvement over the last. Also, those silver spoon WAFS look killer on you. Love.
