More Ann Taylor Items!

I'm on a roll here.  I really like my newest Ann Taylor items.  They were having another special, as usual lol.  It was like 40% or 50% off regular priced items or something like that.  I think they still have a similar promotion right now.  I really like this Faux Leather Mini Skirt in cognac, and the Spot Print Tie Neck blouse.

How cute is the dalmatian print blouse!  I don't usually like bows, but you can wear this blouse with the neck tie just hanging down, or only looped once, which is way less matronly looking in my opinion.

The other blouses I have from Ann Taylor are in size S, but I read reviews on this one that said to size down.  So I got size XS and it's a good call!  This blouse is 100% polyester, but for some reason it feels really soft and nice.  I really really like it.

The faux leather skirt is really nice too.  It's a "mini" skirt but it's not that short so it's actually more practical.  I got it in size 0, same as my other Ann Taylor skirts.  It fits about the same, so true to size.

Those pockets are real too:

I now have 2 faux leather skirts in similar colors, since I just got the faux leather pencil skirt from The Limited.  But I think they are definitely different enough to keep both!  =)  The Ann Taylor skirt is actually not that cheap even after 50% off.  It still costs me $55 + tax.

I also got the Colorblock Split Back sweater from Ann Taylor.  It's quite soft and a nice, easy fit that will go with pretty much anything.  The colors are nice and soft together.  It's called "soft opal".

I got it in size XS and it's still rather relaxed fitting.  The soft opal color I got is tan/nude in the front and heather gray on the back.  It's a thin sweater, perfect for my weather.

Ok, I also got a "suit" but I'm going to return it.  The two pieces are not advertised as a suit or anything, but they are the same material so I thought I'd make them a suit.  I don't really like either piece enough to keep though, and I like the combination even less lol.

They are the Tweed Flounce Skirt and the Tweed Moto Jacket, both in "golden ochre".

I actually tried the skirt on in store before, so I knew what size to get.  The online reviews all said to size up one.  But I went with the same size 0 that I normally get in Ann Taylor bottoms.  I actually feel that I'm usually between 0 and 00, since their skirts are cut larger in the hips.  This skirt actually fits quite well in size 0 so I suppose it does run slightly smaller.  I really do like the material/color of it, but in the end I just don't see myself wearing this very often.  So I'll save my $50 for something else.

I can't really decide if I like this skirt style on me.  I'm leaning towards "no".  It's too girly or something.  The length is also kind of iffy for work.

I'm not really a fan of the jacket on me at all.  I really wanted to like it!  It is only $89 after the discount, which is pretty good for a jacket!  It's also made pretty well I think.  I got it in size 0, and maybe it's still just too big.  There's quite a bit of room at the waist when zipped up.  I feel like it looks very boxy and not flattering at all.  And it looks too weird with the skirt I think lol.

Here it is unzipped:

Oh well, I'm not that upset these two items didn't work for me.  So it's a sign!  There's so many other cute items out right now, I only want to keep things I really like!

  1. I really like the the tweed skirt and the black shirt and shoes you paired it with. I think that could definitely be worn to work :)
