Sunday Funday!

I've had an interesting week... I got called back to the Superior Court on Monday and Tuesday to get interviewed as a possible juror for the murder case I got put on, and found out how truly inefficient our court system is... LOL!  I got there at 8:30 am on Monday like I was told.  They made everyone sit outside and wait.  Took roll call maybe 5-6 times at different intervals.  But we didn't do anything until 2:30 pm!  Of course there was a lunch break in between during which we didn't have to camp outside the court room on cold benches.  But c'mon!  So for the rest of Monday and Tuesday, they started interviewing everyone - they got about 100 people to choose from because they decided to add a whole new pool on Monday!  You know how I said last week that I didn't mind doing jury duty since I've never done it before and it could be interesting?  Well, I changed my mind after seeing what a waste of time this process was.  I have very little patience for incompetence.  So I was happy they added a whole new pool of people to choose from, because that means my chances of being picked got much smaller.  Turns out, I was one of the first to get dismissed on Tuesday!  The defense attorney dismissed me - he probably sensed my annoyance with him.  He was an idiot, even referred to himself as "the People" at one point and the prosecutor had to tell him that he's actually the defense... really???  I already know he's going to lose... lol.  But, I finished my civic duties, and got paid $45 for 3 days of my time there!  Hahaha!

Anyway, I also decided this week that I was going to start working out in the morning before work instead of after.  I used to workout in the morning years ago, and I loved it!  But I had to start going to work earlier so I made the switch to afternoon.  Well... I've decided to suck it up and be at the gym at 5 am, workout until about 6:30, then shower and be at work by 7ish (2 min drive from gym).  Of course it's more like 7:20 by the time I actually manage to get to work.  I did it 4 times this week, and it's really not bad at all!  There's nobody there at 5 am so it's really great that I pretty much have the whole weights area by myself.  It's kind of brutal when my alarm goes off at 4ish.  But I have more motivation to get up for the gym than for work.  Surprisingly, I have lots of energy in the morning to do weights.  Before I head out, I only eat a little bit of Greek yogurt, or this kefir yogurt drink from Trader Joe's (apparently it has more probiotics than regular yogurt) because I just can't imagine eating more at 4:45 am.  But I'm good to go after that!  I can lift even more than I normally do in the evening!  So it's working out well so far.  I'm definitely going to continue doing so for a couple more weeks and see how I feel.  But I think I'll most likely stick to this new schedule!

By the way, is anyone watching the Oscars right now?  I filled out a ballot today at the Lululemon Beverly Hills store.  The winner gets a sports package.  I am 1 for 10 so far lol.  Only one I got right was hair & makeup.  I think I got this!  :P

Monday 2/24 - Rest day

Tuesday 2/25
What I did:  Lower body weights.  Then 30 minutes of cardio.

What I wore:  Lululemon cool racerback in groovy stripe nimbus, with spry blue free to be bra under.  Lululemon Lab Perennial Tight and Reebok Crossfit Forging Elite shoes.

It got cold here this week, and actually was pouring rain the past couple days!  Finally!  So, black swan Off the Mat jacket as to and from.

Wednesday 2/26
What I did:  Shoulder and tri workout followed by my 30 minutes of cardio.

Splits59 Venus Jacket as to and from - I'm so happy I found out the name of this jacket lol.

For my work outfit on Wednesday, I wore my Ann Taylor zip back colorblock skirt for the first time!  Love it.  Wore it with Express bateau neck sheer stripe sweater which I also love and have been wearing a lot.  Adrienne Vittadini diamond tights and Vince Camuto Dacoma pumps.

This skirt is very visually slimming from the side!

Thursday 2/27
What I did:  Back and bi, then cardio again!

What I wore:  Lorna Jane Team LJ tank with Lorna Jane Duo bra in yves blue under it.  Lululemon Inspire Crop in inkwell/burn yellow (hemmed), and Nike Free 5.0 in violet.

It was raining, so I put on my Inspire Jacket in senorita pink.

Friday 2/28
What I did:  Lower body weights, no cardio.

What I wore:  Lululemon Stuff Your Bra tank in fossil/flash - I forgot about this tank since it bled onto itself lol.  But I did soak it in oxyclean and the fossil part is ok now, but the flash bra is a lot less vibrant than before.  I still really like this tank though!  Lululemon Empower crop in coal/passion, and New Balance Minimus Road shoes.

Saturday 3/1
What I did:  Upper body supersets followed by the last cardio session of the week!

What I wore:  Ok, I went a little crazy lol.  It was raining and dark out, so I wanted to brighten it up!  Lululemon swiftly racerback in heathered pow pink, with pow pink free to be bra under.  Sweaty Betty Adrenaline ombre capris, and NB shoes again.  I love the look of these crops, but the material is shit.  It's so sheer that I have to wear special underwear (Victoria's Secret no show sport panty in nude) with them.  What a shame.  I love the colors though!

Kept the theme going by wearing the pow pink Define Jacket as to and from.  Ok, I like this jacket again.  Better take it off of the sales page lol.  See, this happens all the time to me.  I think I'm tired of something, sell it, and then regret it later.  Sigh...

I actually wore this jacket again after I showered at the gym, with Manitobah Mukluks.  My casual clothes is not too different from my gym clothes!  :)

Sunday 3/2
What I did:  Pilates class.

What I wore:  Splits59 Ashby tanks, barberry over white.  New Splits59 Raquel Expression pants (Love!!!  Got so many compliments on these too!) and Renvy Cara Hidden Wedge sneakers.

As to and from (I wore this to brunch afterwards), I put on the Splits59 Revive Liquid Scarlet pullover:

I actually almost didn't wear white pants today, since I had all you can eat Korean BBQ last night for dinner!  And... I ate all I could eat lol.  It was a great calorie splurge.  If you guys come to visit LA, you must visit Koreatown and go to one of a million all you can eat K-BBQ places.  It's one of the greatest things about living in LA.  :)

Hope you all had a great weekend, and happy Oscar watching!

  1. I was up for jury duty here in Chicago and was very relieved not to be picked. I only had to show up one day and they picked the 12 people befor I even got questioned. It took all day and was so boring. I was slightly disappointed that the courtroom looked nothing like Law and Order...

I love the sweaty betty ombre tights for their look and how lightweight they are but I also have nude underwear just for them. I also only wear them for cardio when I am only bending to tie my shoes.

    1. I actually get out of bed at 4:15 am and out of the house by 4:45 am so I get to the gym right at 5 am. :) I think my body likes working out in the morning a lot better. I actually have more energy during the day. But I am a night owl so it's hard for me to get to bed earlier.

  4. Just discovered your blog and I love it! I like to workout in the am also- I wake up at 4:30 but I try to be in bed by around 9:30 at night (but then I feel like I miss out on my night- just work, come home make dinner and lunches and sleep!). I'm definitely tired at night so I could go to sleep anytime and I've always done better in the morning but I just wanted to see what's worked best with you for what time you go to sleep and how many hours you need to wake up refreshed at 4:30?

Looking forward to reading your past entries. :-)
