Sunday Funday!

Hi everyone!  I just got back home from a spontaneously overnight trip to Palm Springs with a couple friends.  The weather was high 70s and perfect, it was so fun!  Do you guys use this app called Hotel Tonight?  It has last minute, same day deals for hotels in lots of cities in the world.  They get refreshed daily.  You can get a better rate than booking directly from the hotel.  So on the drive there, I actually got the Riviera Hotel for like 100 bucks (I also called them and their cheapest rate was $170).  Woohoo!  It's a beautiful hotel, and the pool area is great.  For some reason Palm Springs was empty this weekend.  I thought winter was the hot season there.  But that was probably why rates were so low.  I love going out to Palm Springs area.  It is only about a 2 hour drive from LA, and it's so relaxing!  All I do there is eat, play tennis, and lay out by the pool and nap.

So this week I decided to wear Splits59 outfits everyday for the gym... and I did it!  Haha!  I just got a bunch of stuff from their sample sale, so I was excited to try it all.

Monday 12/9
What I did:  Lower body weights and then my 30 minute cardio session on 15% incline treadmill.

What I wore:  Splits59 Devon tank in twilight, with Nova Capri tights and black Nike Free Bionics.  I don't own any Splits59 bra, so I wore my Victoria's Secret Angel sports bra.

I wore the same colored Splits59 Dallas Hoodie as to and from:

Tuesday 12/10
What I did:  Back and bi weights then 30 minute cardio session.

What I wore:  Splits59 Ashby ribbed tanks, white over nude.  Splits59 Ginger tights in marianna blue, and Reebok Crossfit Forging Elite shoes.  I love wearing the white tank over nude, since white is quite see-through by itself, and nude is almost exactly the same color as my skin tone.

I wore the Pose Fx Racerback pullover in white/silver as to and from:

Wednesday 12/11
What I did:  Shoulder & Tri, followed by cardio once again!

What I wore:  Splits59 Serenna tank in yucca, with black Ginger crops and black Nike Free Bionics.  I wore the Lululemon Free to Be bra in faded zap under it.

I wore the Dismount Viper scoop neck pullover as to and from:

Thursday 12/12 - Rest day.  But I got a little creative with my work outfit!  I don't know why this never occurred to me before, but you can layer skirts over dresses!  So I wore my French Connection Jag Multi dress, with the Express high waist studio stretch pencil skirt over it.  Sam Edelman Mallory slingbacks.  Oh and my beloved Balanciaga City bag.

Just for reference, here's the dress by itself - I wore it to my birthday dinner last with Marc Jacobs Ashley handbag and Modern Vintage wedge sandals.  :)

I love this discovery!  This makes me wonder what other work-inappropriate outfits I can make work!

Friday 12/13
What I did:  It was actually my company's holiday party, but I went to the gym first like a true trooper!  Or, addict.  Hahahaha.  I did my regularly scheduled lower body workout, which includes strength and plyo supersets.  Then my last treadmill cardio session of the week!

What I wore:  Splits59 Ashby Courage tank over Splits59 Ashby tank in granita, paired with Splits59 Nova capri tights in grey/granita.  I thought the granita tank with granita pants were too much of a match, so I put the courage tank over.  Coobi bra and New Balance Minimus Road shoes.

And the Splits59 Penney ribbed LS hoodie and to and from:

This is what I wore to my holiday party.  I didn't really feel like going, but I thought I'd go for the free food after my workout.  I actually wanted to go somewhere else afterwards so I wore this Express mesh sleeve sweater dress with Ash Orchid boot over-the-knee style (I usually fold the cuff down so it's right below the knee).  It wasn't entirely appropriate with work people around, but who cares.

Saturday 12/14
What I did:  I did my upper body superset workout before driving out to Palm Springs!

What I wore:  Splits59 black diagonal reflective stripe racerback tank with the grey reflective Ginger crop, and Nike Free Bionics in purple.

I wore the Cameron Jacket in heat/nude over, which matches the piping of the crops exactly.  :)

So I kept up with wearing Splits59 even for casual wear lol.  This is what I wore after the gym on Saturday - Splits59 Pose FX racerback pullover with Express Stella camo skinny leggings and Zigi Kickin wedge sneakers.

Sunday 12/15
What I did:  I got up semi-early this morning and did my 20 minute stadium stairs workout where I run and jump up and down stairs non-stop.  I actually like this workout, even though it makes me breathless after like 30 seconds!  Then I played tennis for a little bit since the Riviera hotel has like 9 courts and they were all empty!

What I wore:  Splits59 Olivia Run LS in barberry/apricot, with Splits59 Nova capri tights in black and Reebok shoes.  Here's me on the tennis court!

After tennis, I went to take a dip at the pool.  Then laid out to get some sun while having brunch.  I wore my Lululemon bikinis for the first time!  I got them at the warehouse sale and I mix-n-matched the Costal Om top with the Sand to Savasana bottoms.  Ok, I was way too lazy to get up from my lounge chair, so this is my selfie!

After pool time, I changed into Splits59 again!  Lol.  I really love these Splits59 french terry pullovers.  I wore the barberry Vail Cutout pullover with white Abercrombie skinny jeans, and Modern Vintage shoes.

And then I messed around for a bit there, had a coffee break and drove home!  I think being in the sun made me all tired so it's bed time now!  I wish I had one more day to lay around the do nothing!  But that's how I feel every Sunday night.  :)

  1. I love the splits59 theme for the week.

I tried my new nova capris. They were so-so for running but great on the stairclimber.

    1. Now that I think about it, I've never worn the Novas running (since I don't run anymore). I did LOVE them when I did my stair workout though.

  2. not scandalous to post online... trust me, there are a lot of things on the internet that are scandalous. you're inspiring and you have an awesome physique (you worked hard and you deserve it). i'm trying to get in shape for this Spring (i say that every winter, but this time i'm setting goals). i was in Vegas a few weeks ago and (talk about scandalous) i definitely had the biggest bikini by the pool. i've since gone shopping and bought myself a lot of very, very sexy outfits. i went commando in my lululemon yoga shorts and not that i was revealing (too much) but i just felt 1000% sexier, flirtier and more confident... whether waiting on line at Starbucks or walking out of the gym. it's game time!

    1. Oh that's so cute! I'm a big believer that when you feel good on the inside, you look better on the outside. Part of the reason I posted the boudoir pictures up (then deleted them lol) was because it's not something I would have considered at all just a couple years ago. So it's a big step for me. I took them down after a little while because I thought about all the internet creepers and possibility of my coworkers seeing. But I'm considering putting them back up lol.
