Sunday Funday!

Today was the LA Marathon and I was pretty much boxed into my neighborhood since the main streets around me were closed.  I figured I might as well go watch people run!  Mile 22 marker is literally right outside of my place anyways.  I went to grab some coffee, then slowly strolled to the farmers market a few blocks away.  It was around 9:30 am, and I saw quite a few people go by already.  I was impressed!  They started running at around 7 am (pushed earlier due to the terrible heat wave we've having).  To get to mile 22 by 9:30 is something I could not achieve myself... hahaha.  The weather was so much better at 9:30 though.  By 10:30, it was so unbearably hot already.  I could not imagine having to run so long in that temperature.  The LA Marathon is funny, a couple years ago it was cold and pouring rain.  This year and last year were both super hot.  I guess you just never know what to expect!

Anyway, I thought I'd take a couple pics since I was out there:

This was taken a little later, so there were more people - from mile 22 on, it's just a slow down hill run towards the ocean.

This was the 30th year anniversary for the LA marathon, so on Friday night, the main sponsor Asics decided to put up lights at every mile of the marathon for a couple hours.  It was pretty neat!  If you are at a higher up area, you can see a lot of them.  I was at the Palisades and I could see quite a few.  They don't show up on photos well unfortunately.  This was the best one I got, but you can only see 2 here.

That was fun.  Although the marathon totally messed up my gym schedule today since I couldn't get anywhere.  Oh well!  I did finish up month 5 of my Get Glutes program this week though, despite the stupid time change.  I was so tired earlier this week that I could only get up early to go workout on Friday lol.  The rest of the time I fought the after work crowd.

I can't believe I'm on month 6 starting tomorrow!  Month 6 is a little different because the strength sessions go up from 3 times a week to 4 times a week.  I used to weight train 5 times a week, so this is not a problem at all.  I'm actually quite happy to do a little more.  3 is a little light.  4 is probably just right.

Alo mesh hoodie as to and from:

I snuck in workout wear for dinner on Friday night!  Well, I guess it's not really "workout" wear.  More like "Athleisure" wear.  This word is so funny.  I guess it's pretty accurate though.

Saturday 3/14
What I did:  Strength #3.

What I wore:  New Lorna Jane Ballet tank with Lululemon Free To Be bra in power purple under.  Splits59 Nova Viper capri, and same Nike shoes as the previous 2 days because I love them that much!  <3 <3

Lorna Jane Danni vest as to and from, since it was so damn hot yesterday too.

And of course, today I was lazy and watched people run instead of working my own butt.  =P

I do feel pretty accomplished this weekend, since I managed to unpack all the boxes that were in the living/dining area of my new place.  Now it looks so much cleaner and bigger!  I even bought some more art work to diva my place up a bit.  But I really want to make my own art work so I'll have to start on some projects soon.  My bf has all these old car magazines that he found and has been moving around with him for years (lol), I'm talking like 4 huge boxes worth!  So one of the projects I want to do is to go through them and see if I can find cool old car pictures to frame and make a gallery wall.  I don't know jack shit about cars, but it will look cool in the spare bedroom I think.  =)

  1. Heh, I know, "athleisure" -- what's up with that?!

Great outfits. How are you liking the Get Glutes program?

    1. I like it! I think it's a great full body workout program. I also love that they throw in different types of workouts (i.e. heavy weights, body weight, etc.) and it's a 18 months program. I think 3 weight sessions per week is achievable for most people as well. You could also do less or more (just repeat a couple workouts), but I followed their 3x per week up until now, with additional conditioning type of classes that I take at the gym. I'm looking forward to doing 4x per week though!
