Sunday Funday!

Why are weekends always so short??  I had the longest week at work last week, even though it was only a 4 day work week.  I guess I was also somewhat jet lagged (even though I thought I wasn't at all) because I was just so tired!  I couldn't even wake up to go to the gym on most days.  I had the best intentions to go after work on those days that I slept in in the morning, but when you've been at work for like 12 hours and it is 6 pm on a Friday, it's just really hard to find the motivation to go workout!  This is why I like going to the gym in the mornings.  So this weekend, as a result, I had to go workout both yesterday and today - and I did it grudgingly!  I really was dragging my feet, totally unmotivated.  I would have been perfectly fine to have just stayed home and slept lol.  So I guess I'm taking a really long time to say that I wish I had one more day off!

I've been trying to eat really well this week, since I didn't do that great last week and therefore still carried some of the extra weight and bloat from my trip.  I think I'm finally back to normal!  Thank goodness.  For some reason, lately I've been finding it harder to bounce back to normal from a cheat meal, let alone a vacation.  Maybe it's because I'm getting older lol.  Oh the sad reality.

But, I did finish off my last remnant from Paris - this awesome nougat I got from the posh supermarket on the basement level of the Gallerie Lafayette!  I love nougats.  We don't get them like this in the US.  This one was a big wedge, like a piece of cake!

Definitely not cheap.  But so worth it lol.

I ate that in no time.

So I feel like I had to share my great find - I went to dinner last Sunday night, and wore the Soprano dress I bought a couple years ago and almost never wear.  Mainly because it matched my awesome new Swarovski turtle charm that my boyfriend got me in Amsterdam!

Pictures just cannot do this cute charm justice.  It moves in person!  All 4 legs actually.  So so cute!

A couple close ups, but again, you cannot appreciate the cuteness unless you hold it in your hand:

I love Swarovski charms.  They are so delicate and playful!  I must get the crab one as well.

Ok, steering back on topic now.  Despite being very unwilling, I actually made it to the gym 5 times this week and completed all my weight and cardio workouts!

Monday 9/1
What I did:  Lower body weights.

What I wore:  Lorna Jane Dantelle tank, with Lululemon Free To Be bra in faded zap under.  Lululemon Pace crop, and Nike Free Bionics.

Tuesday 9/2 - Slept in!

Wednesday 9/3
What I did:  Shoulder/tri weights, followed by 30 minutes on the gauntlet.

What I wore:  Lululemon Cross My Heart tank in silver spoon, and Lululemon wunder under crops in bordeaux drama with Nike Free 3.0s.

Lululemon Forme Jacket in savasana camo fatigue green as to and from:

Thursday 9/4
What I did:  Glute/back/bi workout.

What I wore:  New Nike Dri Fit Touch Breeze tank in cobalt blue, with Lorna Jane Lustre sport bra in sparkle fluro orange under.  Lululemon Mod Moves crop, and Nike Free 5.0 TR Fit 4 shoes in cobalt blue/bright mango.  Went the matchy matchy route!

I love that these shoes go with so many things I have.  But I guess I also bought this top to go with the shoes lol:

Splits59 Venus jacket as to and from.  I continued the matchy matchy theme - love that the jacket and crops both have black and gray tones!  This is one of my favorite jackets I've ever bought.  I still can't believe they sold it to me for $5 at the sample sale!  It's super comfy and the colorblocking is very figure flattering.

Friday 9/5 - Slept in again!

Saturday 9/6
What I did:  Lower body weights, then about 30 minutes of a little treadmill workout with plyo work mixed in.

Sunday 9/6
What I did:  Upper body superset weights, then 30 minutes on the gauntlet.

What I wore:  Lorna Jane Radah tank in hot flamingo marl, with Lorna Jane Lola bra in sparkle gray marl under.  Lululemon Speed Short in savasana camo fatigue green, and same shoes as yesterday!  Love that these shoes have pink, violet, and orange hues in them so they go with quite a bit of tops I have!

Well, I'm glad this long week is over!  I am going to be positive and think that the coming week can only be better lol.  I hope I have pushed past my lack of motivation issue as well!

  1. Hi! I see no effects of your trip on you at all! I notice you mention the gauntlet a lot. Is the gauntlet the rotating stair machine? What do you do in it for 30 min? Why is better than the treadmill? What do you think of other forms of cardio like cycling or running?

  2. Yes it's the big rotating stairs machine! I got used to calling it the gauntlet from my old trainer haha. But I think the name is appropriate. It's killer! I do intervals on it - 1 min fast speed, 45 sec moderate speed, repeat for 30 min (about 17-18 intervals). I think it's a lot harder than doing the same on 15% incline treadmill. The treadmills at my gym only go up to 15% at the highest. If I had ones that went higher then I think it would be comparable to the gauntlet. Anyway, try it, the gauntlet is much harder than the treadmill for me. It also builds the bootay at the same time! =P I used to take spin classes but now I don't anymore mainly because they are so long and none of the classes fit my schedule. I also used to run but I kind of hate running lol! I sometimes do the treadmill work where I run/walk at a fast pace, do some lunges, mix in some plyo work off the treadmill, etc. I just don't like steady speed running cuz I get so bored. But if that is your thing then I say go for it! I'm also not doing too much cardio now because I want to build muscle. Cardio is not good for that. =)
