Lululemon Dance Studio Pants in Bordeaux Drama

I must apologize first for missing the "Sunday Funday" post yesterday.  I've been so busy lately, and spent the weekend in Santa Barbara.  Did not get back until very late.  But I had a very bad week as far as working out goes, and do not have many outfits to share anyways.  So I will just combine it with this week's.  So far I am planning on working out a lot to make up for lost time!

Anyways, so while I was in Santa Barbara, I went to visit the Lululemon store.  I finally caved and bought the Dance Studio Pants in bordeaux drama that I've been eying.  I have 2 pairs of Dance Studio Pants so far, in coal (unlined) and white (lined).  I love both of them dearly, but I really don't *need* them.  I usually wear them as to/from the gym when the weather is cooler.  So they are kind of expensive for what they are used for.  But I really couldn't resist them in bordeaux drama!

The other two pairs I have are both in size 2, which is one size down from my usual bottom size at Lululemon.  However, I bought these in size 4.  They are definitely looser in the waist, but way different in the legs than my size 2 pairs.  Besides, the store only had one pair of these left in this color, and they happened to be size 4.

Since I bought the Wunder Unders in bordeaux, I've been loving this color.  And have been finding surprising items in my closet that go with it.  So I feel somewhat justified with having these Dance Studio pants in this color, even though I paid the new inflated price of $108 for them.  These pants are actually one of my favorite styles at Lulu, and I think that now that I'm playing golf a lot, I can wear them out on the course when the weather cools.  Or maybe I'm just finding every excuse to keep them! Ha!  That wouldn't be a first.  =)

  1. Missed your sunday funday post!
Love the pants--did you have them hemmed? I have to pairs (black and coal) and I usually just use the drawstring to try and keep them off the ground. I recently saw a girl at my gym with them hemmed, and i thought they looked much better that way. in your photo they look hemmed--did they let you keep the draw cord?

    1. I did not hem them. I used the drawstring... I've seen them hemmed as well but actually prefer the drawstring look. Maybe it's because the person I saw hemmed them a bit too short. I like these a little bit on the longer side. I think you have to kind of play with the cord to adjust the length and find the perfect look...

  2. I missed Sunday Funday too!

I ordered the bordeaux DSP and just received them - I was super(!) excited to get them as to/from, but I'm not sure I like the fit. I'm a 4 in most lulu bottoms, a 6 in speeds/luxtreme (for the waist). I tried the size 4 white lined version on at the store and thought they were bulky, and I attributed it to the lining. I tried the 2 in the bordeaux DS crop, but it was really snug on my backside. Maybe they are just too big? I don't know how that could be, you're smaller than me and they look fantastic on you! Super cute, you should definitely keep them!

    1. My size 2 pairs and this pair look identical in the legs. But in waist and butt, these are looser for sure. I think they are supposed to be kinda baggy, but if you are used to tight fitting pants, they may take some getting used to? Not sure... They are awesome pants though!

    2. I think you are right, I'm not a baggy pant wearer - I wear lulu tights and even my jeans are skinny. I'm going to try the DSP around the house a little and see if I can become accustomed to them. Thanks! :-)

  3. I love these pants too!! They look great on you - I bought bordeaux but then I also caved and bought the black swan - now I am feeling really guilty but am trying to justify that I need a lined pair for winter... the lined ones are literally like wearing a sleeping bag on your legs - so cozy!! The black swan color is really nice too - like a deep midnight blue. I sized down from a 6 usually to a 4 and they are a good fit but a teeny bit tight in the waist area and I am hoping it will stretch a little... or I'll just have to keep running!

  5. See, I like the DSPs but I feel like they look so much more cute on other people in photos than they do on me. I'm considering selling my Pigment Blue ones since I spend wayyy too much on Lulu.
