Three Pow Pink Tanks from Lululemon!

I am back in LA!  After almost 24 hours of travel time and like 5 crying babies next to me the whole flight, I am very glad to be back in the comforts of home.  I know I was only gone for 2 weeks, but for some reason it feels like I've been gone for a very long time.  I dared to weigh myself when I first got home on Sunday, and I almost had a heart attack because I was 10 lbs heavier!!!  But by this morning I had lost 7 of those, so I guess I am up net +3 lbs which is much more acceptable considering how many gelato cones I had.  It's amazing how bloated a plane ride can make you!  I feel much better now, and I went back to work today where I retrieved my Lululemon package that I ordered while I was in Greece.  When I opened the package, it was like a pink explosion in my face!  I ordered 3 tanks, all in pow pink.  I love this color.  It's a great neon pink, and goes well with my new awesome tan!

So I ordered the cool racerback which I am definitely keeping.  The only pink cool racerback I have is bubbulicious which is a much lighter pink and nowhere close to this one.  I think this is what's been missing in my life.  I hope it doesn't bleed though.

I also ordered the Swiftly Racerback in pow pink light.  I was thinking of keeping either the cool racerback or the swiftly racerback, but now I am pretty sure I will be keeping both.  Pow pink light, especially in swiftly material, is quite different from pow pink in luon.  Definitely different enough to justify keeping both (or so I tell myself).  Also I've been meaning to get a second Swiftly Racerback anyway since I love my pink mist one.

Maybe this picture shows the color difference a little better, although I think the Swiftly Racerback looks even lighter in person than the photo shows:  pow pink cool racerback on the left and pow pink light swiftly racerback on the right.

Lastly, I ordered the Wandering Yogi Halter:

I like the neck strap detail and one of the back straps is braided which is cute too:

I love the halter style and the fact that the neck can be tied and adjusted to whatever feels comfortable to me (I usually have issues with neck strap being too tight with Lululemon halter tanks).  But there are a couple issues I have with this tank (I ordered it in my usual size 4).  1) I feel like the back goes down too low and is rather impractical - I would probably only use it for casual wear if I kept it.  2) The inner bra (the usual tannish color) kind of shows on top when you put it on normally and you have to adjust the chest to hide it.  3) The back straps don't stay in place (they kind of twist and turn however they feel like) and are a little tight on me which creates kind of a pinched look that I hate.  But otherwise I actually really like the look of this tank.  But since I'm already keeping the other two in the same color, I will most likely return this one.

Here's what it looks like on me:

The back is also curved and very long, it covers my butt.  I would rather have it be a couple inches shorter.

If not for the fit of the back straps, I think I would be more tempted to keep this tank.  I just feel like it would really bother me the way the straps twist and turn.  The top two straps like to overlap each other too.  And I really don't care for the back fat look.  I do think the straps are cute looking as a design detail, but I would actually rather just have the back of the tank come up to where the straps are and that way it would not show as much skin, which is like the whole entire back.

But 2 out of 3 isn't bad at all!  I'm very happy with the racerbacks.  =)

  1. Did you feel like that pow pink cool racerback fit differently that others? I got mine yesterday and I thought it seemed quite a bit looser.

  2. Pink is a fun color. I have not bought the Wandering Yogi Halter, I was afraid of not being maintained in the chest. Therefore I will not buy it! ;)
you are very tanned, you're lucky.
Have you try the Lululemon Athletica Flip Out Boardshort Black/Beachy? i wanted to buy but i wanted your opinion before.

    1. I tried out the shorts in store and did not like the fit too much. I don't remember why exactly but I think the waist cut in and the shorts were tight. Maybe should have tried the next size up but I passed...

  3. The wandering yogi tank looks really flattering on you. I can't wear those styles because they really dig into my neck and give me headaches. Maybe you can find a street wear dupe.
Have you tried the optimal or scoop me up tanks?

    1. Yeah I normally can't wear halter style tanks from Lululemon either but this one doesn't dig in at all since you tie it yourself. I haven't tried the other two tanks yet. I just got back from out of the country so I haven't visited a store in a while. I might have to go soon!

    1. Haha yes! He was soooo excited to see us! And he's been very hyper the past couple days. I guess he got a little sick while we were away but he seems to be doing well now. He's so cute, I missed him tons!

  5. You look awesome in all of the tanks! You should be a Lulu model! I just received my Pow Pink CRB and my husband looked at it and made a face. He knows better than to make comments but I think he is sick of me ordering every neon color that exists!

    1. Hehe my husband looked at the pow pink cool racerback and said "woah blinding". But he said it's not a bad thing! I personally love bright colors in workout wear, and I like to mix and match them together. Otherwise it's so boring!

  6. I got the new pink CRB and racerback swiftly, too, and I am in love!!! I am super excited to wear them!!! This new Pow Pink is the best :)
I also got the Pow Pink bound bra... I absolutely love my ray one, and the Pow Pink light V-neck. I've been going a bit crazy with my lulu purchases lately. I seriously need to start exercising some restraint. Also need to sell some older things on ebay.

Hey, I am normally a size 6 in lulu tops, so I got a size 6 CRB, but I got both the 6 and 4 swiftly racerback. Do you size down in your swiftly racerbacks?
Glad you're back to be home with Whiskey. There's really no place like home :)

    1. I get my normal size in the swiftly racerback. I think back a couple years ago the armpit used to dip really low in the swiftly racerback and people would size down. I never liked the fit on me before. But now they fit much better. I actually can even tell a difference between my pink mist one and this new pow pink light one. I like this one better.

I love that you can resell used Lulu on ebay and recycle the money on new stuff... lol. I also think that when you really like something, you should just stock up. Otherwise there will be long stretches where they decide to make some funky crap that you won't want to wear if they paid you.

    1. It's an older Flow Y in a color called "bright blue", which is really what the name implies. =)

  8. Hi, I just wanted to thank you for mentioning the New Rules of Lifting for Abs on your blog. I was rear-ended by a pickup truck in my lil civic hybrid in January while sitting on the interstate in stopped traffic. Thought I was fine, but after a few days, I couldn't move my back and neck. I started Physical Therapy and am finally getting to the point where I can do some regular exercises and bought this book online after you mentioned it and I read some more about it. My PT is slowly incorporating these exercises into my routine so that I can start a home program on my own and not see him twice a week (still duking it out with the insurance company to cover my therapy visits). I've always been a pretty active person, so this slow recovery is driving me nuts, but finally getting somewhere. Anyway, just wanted to let you know what a big deal it is that I found this book through you and your blog!!!
    Thanks very much, Vanessa
