Victoria's Secret Ruched Wrap Solid Sweaterdress

So instead of returning everything from my last Victoria's Secret order, I actually exchanged for a sweater dress.  I figured I couldn't go wrong with it, and got this Ruched Wrap Solid Sweaterdress that looks super cute on the model.  Not that anything ever looks bad on any Victoria's Secret models.  But I figured the wrap style would most likely be flattering on any shape.

I really love this color.  And the fit is not bad, though the skirt portion fits tighter than I thought it would.  It kind of hugs the butt which could be a little hooch.  Hmmm... I definitely have to rule it out as a dress that can be worn to work.  It's also shorter than I thought.  I actually thought it would go closer to my knees since I am much shorter than the model, at 5'5.  But it actually ends up on me about the same length.  Although I could pull it down towards my knees - it just won't stay that way as I move.  It is the type of dress that could go with heels, boots or flats for totally different looks though.  That's always a plus.

I'm not 100% sure if I will keep this one or not, because I was really hoping for a dress that I can wear both to work and casually.  I also think the ruched sides with the band on the seam kind of cheapens it a little.  And it's a little bit see through so a slip would definitely be needed.  Ahh... why can't things just be perfect.  =)

Here's how it looks on me.  I feel like I've been having a hard time making decisions on my purchases lately.  Maybe I should just return everything that I'm not absolutely in love with.  What do you think?  Keep or not keep?  It's about $65 after tax.

Here you can see the skirt is rather tight

  1. unless you would be psyched and feel good wearing it out to dinner THIS weekend, return. you sound really lukewarm on it. it definitely looks good on you, but not sure how often you would wear it and i'm sure you have cuter dresses that you might feel more comfortable in?

  2. I love the top of the dress, but I agree with you about the bottom part. If you were wanting a dress that you could wear out but also wear to work, this isn't it. I say return it. Otherwise, it will sit in the back of your closet and never get worn.

  3. This dress looks very cute on you. But I don't think it could be for work. I say return it.

  4. You look hot, but it's a little hooch. Return. Cute shoes, though. Love nude pumps.

  5. You guys are right, I think I will return it since I'm not 100% happy with it. It will be a waste of money to just sit in my closet. My new year's resolution should be to only buy things that I absolutely love! Easier said than done for a shopaholic. Hahaha. Thanks for your honest advice!!

  6. On second thought, maybe I should wear it to work and try to wiggle my butt and get a raise? LOL jk jk..

Oh and thanks Andrea, the shoes are Ivanka Trump Pinkish pumps. They are actually a pinkish nude color. I posted a while ago about them where I compared the pinkish color and patent nude color in the same shoe. Everyone voted for this color so I kept them! I love them!

  7. You are such an hourglass! I think the dress is gorgeous and shows off your body, but yeah if it's kinda see through and you dont feel comfortable with the fit then send it back and find something that you'll want to wear even if it costs a little more :)

  8. I have never posted on your blogged but felt compelled to give you feedback on this VS dress: Keep it! You look absolutelly stunning on it! Yes, it is short and sexy, and what's wrong with that at work? Once you convince yourself that you look fantastic in this dress, you'll be reaching out for it more often than you think. You could just wear it with a big scarf or a cardigan at work, to divert a bit the attention. But again, there is nothing wrong with showing off your body, after all what's then the purpose of working out so hard? Keep it.

  9. IMO, I think you look great in the dress. I envision this dress as something you would wear to a nice dinner with your husband.

  10. The dress looks cute on you. But I tend to find that if you wear the dress with a pair of tights and even with the nude pumps, you can still get away with it looking conservative.
