Sunday Funday!

I've had such a busy week, it's hard to believe it's Sunday again!  Well... I was busy shopping on Friday lol.  Spent a bunch of money at Bloomingdales and Lorna Jane (more on that later).  I took Friday, tomorrow and Tuesday off work.  I'm hanging out with my grandma tomorrow and Tuesday!  She's flying in mid day tomorrow and I'm excited!  My grandma is like my favorite person in the whole wide world.  She's been very lonely ever since my grandpa passed away in July.  So she's going to live with my mom for a couple months, and hopefully I'll get to see her a lot!  They are only in LA for a day this time, because my mom wants to drive up north with her and get her settled down in my mom's house.  So we are probably not going to do much, just spending a day of quality time together!

Anyways, no matter how busy I get, my workout schedule usually does not suffer.  It's hard to make an excuse not to go to the gym when I set my workouts for first thing in the morning.  I mean... I really have no other obligations at 5 am!  I find that it's a lot easier to come up with excuses if I schedule my workouts in the evening.  I worked out everyday this week!

Monday 3/24
What I did:  Leg workouts followed by 30 minutes of cardio intervals on 15% incline treadmill.

What I wore:  Splits59 Ashby tanks in barberry over granita, Lorna Jane Pammy bra in black, Lululemon Pace Crop and Adidas Adizero Adios 2 shoes.

I put on my Swiftly LS in laceoflage print that I just got as to and from:

Tuesday 3/25
What I did:  Shoulder & tri, then the same cardio routine.

For work on the same day, I wore my old old old Express pencil skirt!  I've had this thing for years.  But I don't wear it often so it's still really new looking lol.  Express oversized drape neck pullover, and Vince Camuto Dacoma pumps.  I think these pumps are one of my all time favorite purchases.  I wear them a lot (as well as the same shoes in black) and I get compliments all the time.

Wednesday 3/26
What I did:  Back/bi weights, then cardio again... same 30 minute treadmill deal.

What I wore:  I don't wear short sleeve shirts often when I workout because I usually get too hot in them.  But I wore this old Lululemon swiftly shirt in lavender, and Yogasmoga Run Jump 'n Play crop.  Nike Free 5.0s in violet.

It was a rather cold day!  It actually rained a little bit.  I wore my new Live Simply Jacket as to and from and it kept me super cozy!

Same day for work, I wore this older Calvin Klein blouse with Ann Taylor Wild Jacquard skirt and my trusted tall black lambskin boots.  Oh and this wide stretchy Express belt that I got a loooong time ago and use it all the time still.  I love how a simple belt can totally change an outfit.

Thursday 3/27
What I did:  Boxing session!  My friend and I bought some semi-private training packages, it was our first session.  Not bad, but not as much cardio as I thought I was going to get.  Hopefully next time will be better.

Friday 3/28
What I did:  Leg workout.  Normally I'd be done with cardio since I do that 4 times a week.  But I felt like I didn't really get a good cardio workout in the night before at boxing, so I did my normal 30 minute treadmill workout anyways.

What I wore:  Lululemon Light Up tank in pig pink... man I've been wearing some old stuff this week!  Didn't even realize!  Lululemon Snap It Up crop in gray pique, and my NEW (lol) Nike Free 3.0s.  As I mentioned before, these new shoes are tight on the arch of my feet.  I'm really hoping they stretch out because I love the way they look!  Might endure the pain and keep them regardless!

I forgot I had this tank.  But I like it!  It feels like I bought a new tank lol.

I like these crops too with the buttons on the side:

Huge zipper pocket on the back of this tank:

Splits59 Venus jacket as to and from:

Saturday 3/29
What I did:  Upper body superset weight workout.

What I wore:  Lorna Jane Macy tank with Victoria's Secret VSX Supermodel Cami bra under it.  Lululemon Live Natural Crop in ombre, and Nike Free 5.0s in violet because it's the exact same color as the tank.  I wanted to wear my new printed Nikes and keep stretching them out, but I couldn't bring myself to pass up the opportunity of wearing perfectly matching tank/bra/shoes.  =)

I wore the Splits59 Vail cutout pullover in ice/marianna blue as to and from.... hey what do you know, marianna blue (lower sleeves) is the same shade as the tank/shoes too lol.  I just can't say enough good things about Splits French Terry pullovers.

Sunday 3/30
What I did:  Pilates class!  Only because I wanted to try out my new Nike Studio Wraps!  I was going to maybe exchange them for a size up but I couldn't wait anymore lol.  They actually turned out to be perfectly fine.  In fact, they were awesome for pilates!  Much much better than my toe socks.  I had much better grip and support.  I'm never going back to socks.

What I wore:  Splits59 Danica scarlet liquid cheetah tank with my zombie tights, aka Lululemon Tech Mesh tight.  =)  It was the first time I actually wore the Tech Mesh tight to workout in, even though I've had them for a year already.  And to be honest, they mostly just hang in my closet.  But I really like them!  Gotta wear them more.

Splits59 Ion Wrap in scarlet as well as to and from, and Manitobah Mukluks!

After pilates, I headed out to have poutine for the first time!  It was actually very good, and a lot better than I thought it would be!  Hit up the driving range to hit some golf balls afterwards.

I love it when my workout clothes can be versatile... so I wore all Lululemon - new black laceoflage Swiftly LS over power purple cool racerback.  Camo Spring Fling vest - I was going to sit on it and think about it, but now it is long past the return period so I thought hey... might as well take the tag off and wear it.  Lululemon Wunder Groove crops, and Ash Orchid wedge boots.

See... Very convenient to change into golf outfit afterwards - all I did was change shoes!  Lol... These Nike Free Bionics are quite versatile.  They are great weight lifting shoes, boxing shoes, as well as golf shoes!  Hehe.

I am also now on the second season of Grimm!  Love this show!  It's very entertaining.  I watched like 6 episodes this weekend!  Hehe.

Goodnight everyone!  Hope you all had a great weekend!

Pretty Nike Shoes & Studio Wraps!

I don't really need more workout shoes, especially Nike Frees, because they are not that great for me since I don't really run.  But they are so pretty!  So what the hell.

My newest Nike Free 3.0 V5, printed:

I love this mosaic print look.  These are more expensive than regular Nike Free 3.0s.  They are $115.  I figured I could use them a lot since they are black and white and therefore would go with everything.  The same shoes on Nordstrom's website look exactly like the ones I got, even though I ordered mine from Nike.com.

I actually also like the Nike Free 5.0s in the photo below.  But not as much as the ones I got!

I received them yesterday and actually already wore them today for my workout!  I have to say though, these fit really tight on me.  My other Nike shoes are size 6, but I ordered these in 6.5 because I wanted a looser fit to give room for some swelling.  But the opening of the shoe is pretty tight and hard to get my feet inside.  If you don't own any of the 3.0s, the tongue is completely attached to the sides of the shoe, so you have to sort of jam your feet in.  These just feel much tighter than my other 3.0s in half a size smaller.  When I wore them today for my workout, I felt they were kind of constricting the top arch of my feet and cutting off my blood flow!  I think I'll wear them a few more times though, just to be sure.  They might stretch out a little.  Nike allows returns within 30 days even if you've worn them.  So I have some time to test them out.  What a shame though!  I was totally set on keeping them.

So if you are interested in getting these, I'd definitely recommend going up at least half a size from your normal Nike size.  Here are some pictures of them on me:

I also got the printed Nike Studio Wraps, just because they are on sale and I've been sort of intrigued by these shoes before.  Nike has quite a few of these now, some cost over $100, which seems crazy!  But the ones I got are now $29, down from $50.  $29 just seems a lot more reasonable and worth trying out.  I have seen girls at my pilates studio wearing these wraps, so that's what I will be using them for as well.

The bottom has grips, kind of like wearing grippy socks in pilates:

I like the color combo of these and think that they will go with a lot of outfits.  I got size XS which is what the size chart recommends.  They come in a very small box, and they look tiny when not stretched!

I didn't even read the description when I ordered these, but apparently they come with a carrying pouch.  Cool!

Here they are on me... I think the size is ok, but it's kind of tight in between the toes.  I wore them around for about 10 minutes and they felt ok, but if I take an hour class and move around in them, that could be a different story.  Hmmm... but I don't know if a size up would be too loose for the rest of the feet.  I think I'll just take a gamble and deal with it.

I'm excited to try these out though!  Sometimes my grippy socks don't stick that well when I'm on the reformer.  Maybe these will be better!  I must sign up for a pilates class ASAP.   See... buying a lot of workout gear DOES give you motivation to go workout!  =)

Lululemon Live Simply Jacket Jacquard

I bought a new Lululemon Live Simply Jacket in jacquard snowflake print on ebay last week.  It was only like $40 lol.  The seller didn't know the name so just listed it as a Lulu jacket.  This jacket came out around Christmas 2010 in black, gray and purple.  I thought all 3 colors were pretty cute at the time, but didn't have a need for a jacket like it.  Buuuuut... for $40 and brand new?  Ok!

I actually never tried on this particular jacket before.  I have tried on the Gather Together jacket though, which I believe is the predecessor of this one.  So I figured my true to size (4) would probably work.  When I received it and first put it on, I thought it was actually a close fit.  Definitely not roomy enough to layer under it (not that I would).  It's long enough to cover the bum completely which is nice to wear with leggings.  Also, the sleeves are super thick in this jacket!  I was very surprised by it when I first saw that.  I thought based on pictures I've seen that the sleeves were just a single layer of sweater material, but it's actually doubled layered with the sweater material over the actual jacket sleeve (which is already thick to begin with).  Woah!  Kind of overkill for SoCal.  But it has cooled down a little this week so I actually wore it today lol.  It's quite cozy!

I'm wearing my Lululemon herringbone wunder under pants and Manitobah Mukluks... I just need a fireplace and a cup of hot cocoa now!

It has a very large hood:

I do love the print though!  I know it's super Christmas-y and young looking, but I still like it lol.  I would love to wear this around the holidays.

Close up of the sweater material - this jacket is made pretty well and definitely does not feel cheap:

I love elbow patches, but this one is kind of placed a little weird.  It's too low or something.  Or I'm just a shortie.  But the patch kind of hits me at the side of my upper forearm rather than my actual elbows.

I love jackets and cold weather clothes in general.  I really think that I should move to a place where winter actually comes around once in a while, and become a snow bunny.  =D
